The best location is at the Muckross Park Hotel. There will be a block of rooms guests can attend. We are figuring out costs currently. See travel tab for accommodation options. Airbnb - for groups that would like to stay together there are plenty of Airbnb's nearby
We will most likely be down in Cahersiveen (Kerry) about 1 hour from Killarney. The area is quite remote but has beaches, golf courses, and plenty of pubs / restaurants. We will also be in Midleton (home of Jameson) which is about 20 minutes away from Cork city.
We have provided a registry at the request of guests that either can't make it or feel strongly about giving something. Please do not feel any obligation to provide a gift or money. Our only request is your attendance (which is a big ask for many of you traveling from such a distance!).
Depending on your mode of transport and how long you intend to stay in Ireland this is a tough question. There is a train station in the middle of Killarney (about a 10 minute drive from the venue), and an airport (about a 25 minute drive from the venue). If you make it to Killarney we can figure out how people can get around no problem. Driving in Ireland can be challenging!
We recommend starting the passport process as soon as possible so you can avoid expedited fees. It can take up to 12 weeks to obtain a passport. Additionally, make sure your passport doesn't expire until at least 3 months after your trip, and was issued within the past 10 years.
Semi-Formal Ladies: Long or short dresses, pantsuit, etc. Comfortable footwear is recommend for dancing into the wee hours. Gentlemen: Pants with a button down. Coat and tie optional. No jeans or shorts please.
Really hard question for Ireland in the summer. It may be as high as 75F and sunny, or as low as 60F and overcast/rainy. We're hoping for good weather but bring a mix of clothes!
TBD. This will be weather dependent. We have requested outdoors but if the weather doesn't hold there is a lovely indoor venue on premise.
No not really. Expect to take a taxi if you're not hopping in the car with someone else. If you are staying at Muckross Park Hotel you can ask the reception desk to order you a taxi whenever needed. Taxis accept cash and card (though cash is preferred).
Again, not really. Ireland is very credit-card friendly. You may want to bring a small amount of cash just in case.
Same as UK (not continental Europe).
With many guests traveling long-distance and taking some time off, we felt a mid-week wedding would make sense. Additionally, Darragh's brother Shane plays professional soccer and has a difficult schedule to work around in the summer. A Wednesday gives us the best chance of having him attend.
