It's all happening

In 2014 Ryan Collins took a job as a Financial Analyst at a medical device company in Waukegan, IL. That same year, Katie Darnley took a job as Marketing Analyst at that same company in Columbus, OH. Along their journey, they grew their careers & made some new friends. Fast forward to 2016. Living in Columbus, Katie fell in with some OSU Buckeyes in roomie - turned - bridesmaid Lexi Wehrle and fellow marketer - turned - bridesmaid Grace Ubbing. Making the plunge from his childhood home in Oak Forest to the big city of Chicago, Ryan found a roommate in RedHawk by degree, but Buckeye at heart, JT Hansel. Fast forward to 2017. Katie had just moved to Chicago and finds herself working with a new finance business partner - JT. Ohio State plays Michigan State this weekend. Dragged by cheerleader extraordinaire, Nicole Douglas, with the promise of mimosas - Katie agrees to come to McGee's for the game. Guilted and/or bribed by JT - Ryan puts on his best pug-Hawaiian shirt and attends as well. Over Hang On Sloopy, the rest was history.

5.21.19 We woke on the fourth morning of our Scandinavian adventure. Taking in the clean, quiet air over the fjord from our waterfront cabin we remarked in the beauty of our trip so far. However, the peace was interrupted by the all too familiar rumble of Katie's stomach. So, a trip to the bakery for cinnamon rolls - our trip staple - and coffee was required. We took our breakfast on the go to explore an unseen part of Aurland, a small park on the water. Tricking her into taking a "rose on the titanic" photo, when she turned around Ryan was down on one knee. Heart pounding, he barely got out the question before Katie exclaimed yes and had the ring on her finger! They were able to bask in the glow for the next 14 days as their adventure continued, but really - it was just getting started.
