WE GETTING MARRIED!!!

After college The Lord laid an opportunity to work at a camp for the summer called Service Over Self in Memphis. I pulled into the SOS parking lot and was immediately greeted by this lady who seemed super excited to see me. This lady was my Fiancée, Yonée. The first thing she asked me was, "What do you want me to call you? DJ or Darnell?" I was a little frightened how she approached me and she already knew my name. I said, "I don't care." She said, "No, I need you to tell me what to call you." So I just told her Darnell. Our friendship grew throughout the summer and we stayed friends and hung out frequently for that next year. Yonée worked at Downtown Church and I at Oasis of Hope which is an after school youth ministry. The following summer we coincidently both took our students to For The Kingdom Camp (FTK) for a week. The leadership scheduled rest for adult leaders. Yonée and I of course took advantage of that. We hung out a lot that week and feelings for each other grew more each day. We dated shortly after we left For The Kingdom and we knew that we were in it for good. Fast forward to the day I was proposing, Keri and Eric come into town and took Yonee out to lunch. I wrote a letter before they went to eat and gave the letter to Keri to give to Yonee. At the end of the lunch, she gave Yonee the letter that started by saying, "Yonee, this is the day I'm proposing to you." After the lunch, her best friend from college picked her up and they just got to spend some time together. Then her best friend from Memphis, picked her up and took her to find a new outfit. Once she was ready, Ashley brought her to For The Kingdom where I was waiting for her. Once I proposed, we had to hurry and leave the property because I had another surprise waiting for her. After, I made an excuse to go back to FTK. We pulled up, walked inside where some of our friends and family were waiting to celebrate with us. It was the perfect day, with the best people and with my favorite lady!
