Michael and I met on Bumble in the beginning of COVID. It was fate that we matched because I was in Clearwater and he lived an hour away in Spring Hill, but he was at work in Tampa when we matched. It was quite literally the right person at the right time. Us both being skeptical that somehow we connected with our perfect match at the right time, we decided to FaceTime.. just to make sure we were not going to be on the next episode of CatFish. That one FaceTime turned into late nights of talking and falling asleep on the phone. We had to wait to meet because COVID was at its peak, but that did not stop us from talking every day and night. FINALLY, we were able to meet. When we first met there was a magnetic attraction, it was as if we had known each other our entire lives. We both felt familiar to each other as if we have met before, but know that we had never met prior. Our souls tied instantly, and we became inseparable. We did long distance for a couple months, he would come over my house and have little staycations. Those staycations turned into moving in with my mother and I because we could not stand being apart. A couple months later we got our own apartment. We had our own little family with Pepper and Molly in our own little place, it was perfect.
On December 25th 2021, Michael and I had went over my mothers house with Molly and Pepper to spend Christmas with my mom. We began exchanging presents with one another and my mom. I got Michael a MF DOOM ring that I had been planning on getting him for a while since that is one of his favorite artists... little did I know he had a ring for me too. Michael got me the cutest customizable book "10 Reasons Why I Love You More Than Christmas". This book had cartoons of us on the front, a personalized note on the first page and customizable text along with more cartoon pictures of us explaining those 10 reasons. Of course I cried, not knowing that our lives were about to change forever. Then I gave Michael more of his presents because he said he had to wait to give me the last present until everyone was done opening gifts. Once everyone was done opening gifts he quite literally had to drag me off the floor because I was being lazy and playing around. I did not understand why I needed to stand to open this present. He started to give me a speech of how this was the most perfect day to do this because I love Christmas and because our pets and my mom were there. I started to get really nervous still not understanding what was going on. A little background, I talked about wanting to get engaged for a couple months prior, but he kept stating when it is the right time it will happen. With that being said, I literally had no clue that this would happen. Then he did it.. he got down on one knee. My immediate reaction was saying "no no no no no" and running the opposite way because for some reason I thought he was joking (of course not a no I won't marry you, more like an in shock no, lol). He dealt with me running away a couple times because I was in shock and finally popped the question while holding my hand (probably so I couldn't run away again). Still in shock, I asked him if this had been a promise ring (I truly thought he was going all out for a promise ring). He was amazing and was able to reassure me that there wasn't a doubt in his mind that he wanted to marry me and spend the rest of his life with me. I sobbed because I never thought that I would get the fairytale that I always longed for growing up. I got to marry my favorite person ever. The rest of the day was amazing, we called our close friends and family to tell them the good news, we ate good food and got to spend time with my mom.
Although we'd love to have everyone there to celebrate our special day, we are limiting our number to immediate family and friends. The wedding will be live-streamed on my Facebook for those who are unable to attend, so do not worry!
