The year was 2014, the location was Babcock Hall at University of New Hampshire. Darline had just arrived from Brazil to study environmental engineering. After consistently bumping into each other going up and down the dormitory elevator, Colten decided he had to get to know Darline better. Colten asked Darline out, and their first date was at the UNH movie theater (Darline thought this was so romantic). They watched the movie "Her", and as you may have figured, Colten was who picked the movie! They spent the next year together at UNH before Darline had to return to Brazil in 2015 to finish her bachelor's degree. There was a lot of traveling back and forth from this moment on. The long distance between them was no match for the strength of their love and commitment. They dated for 6 years with many trips to and from Brazil. In January 2020 during one of their trips together to Brazil, Colten proposed while overlooking Canion do Espraiado in Urubici, Brazil. Darline and Colten started planning their dream wedding for October 2020, but the global shutdown that soon followed made having a wedding difficult. Not to be deterred, they decided to still go on with a rather small wedding and on October 10th 2020, Colten and Darline got married in front of a crowd of 10 close family members in a small backyard wedding. Soon after their wedding, Darline returned to Brazil while she waited for her green card application to be processed. As the next year went by, Darline got to fulfill her dream as Colten and her travelled around Italy and parts of Europe, even visiting the town of her namesake, Balen in Belgium. Then, 626 days after their wedding, Darline finally received the long awaited permanent status to live and work in the US, bringing stability to a relationship in which previously the only certainty was the love they had for each other. Now it is time to celebrate this marriage properly with family and friends. Let's make this March 11 a day to remember!

O ano era 2014, o local era Babcock Hall na Universidade de New Hampshire. Darline tinha acabado de chegar do Brasil para estudar engenharia ambiental. Depois de esbarrar constantemente um no outro subindo e descendo o elevador do dormitório, Colten decidiu que precisava conhecer Darline melhor. Colten convidou Darline para sair, e o primeiro encontro deles foi no cinema da universidade (Darline achou isso tão romântico). Eles assistiram o filme "Ela", e como você pode imaginar, Colten foi quem escolheu o filme! Eles passaram o ano seguinte juntos na UNH antes de Darline voltar ao Brasil em 2015 para terminar a faculdade. Foram muitas idas and vindas a partir desse momento. Mas a longa distância entre eles não teve chances contra o amor de um pelo outro. Eles namoraram por 6 anos com muitas viagens ao Brasil. Em janeiro de 2020, durante uma de suas viagens juntos ao Brasil, Colten pediu Darline em casamento no Cânion do Espraiado em Urubici, SC. Darline e Colten começaram então a planejar o casamento para outubro de 2020, mas a pandemia limitou o número de pessoas que pudessem atender o casamento. Mesmo assim, eles decidiram manter o casamento, e no dia 10 de outubro de 2020, Colten e Darline se casaram na frente de 10 familiares próximos em um pequeno casamento de quintal. Logo após o casamento, Darline voltou ao Brasil enquanto esperava pelo seu processo do green card. Em 2021, Darline e Colten decidiram passar um tempo juntos na Itália, e outros países da Europa, visitando até a cidade de Balen, na Bélgica. Então, 626 dias após o casamento, Darline finalmente recebeu o tão esperado green card o que lhe deu autorização para morar e trabalhar nos Estados Unidos permanentemente, trazendo estabilidade a um relacionamento em que antes a única certeza era o amor que sentiam um pelo outro. Agora é hora de celebrar este casamento com toda a família e amigos. Vamos fazer deste 11 de março um dia inesquecível!
