Ricky and I met back when I was in middle school. We road the same school bus, and I was in the same class as his little brother Jon. About 2 years later, my family moved out of district and I honestly never thought I would see him again. As fate would have it we bumped into each other again a few years later when I found out he was dating a girl I worked with. Never saying anything to one another we went yet a few more years before he had popped up on my “People You May Know” on Facebook. I added him and it took a few months til one of us broke the ice and finally started conversation. The night that changed our relationship was the night I was working on the famous peacock cake for the bakery. He sat on the phone with me for HOURS while I finished the cake in which we found out we both had a thing for each other but just never had the opportunity to tell one another. The next day he came into the bakery with his son, nephew and niece to buy some cannoli and cupcakes and so that him and I could finally talk to each other face to face. That weekend we had our first date at Giovanni’s and the following day (08/25/2019) we officially became a couple. Our engagement… We were on our family vacation this year to OCMD with my sister and her kids. The first night we were there the moon was so bright and so full. He asked my sister if she could watch the kids for a few minutes so that we could walk down to the water and sit on the beach. As we got down to the water edge and both couldn’t get over how big the moon was I turned around and there he was, down on one knee, lighted ring box open and my gorgeous ring sparkling in the bright moonlight. It was the most amazing night ever.
