We’re getting married!

We met in 2015 I had just turned 16 and I was in a band with my best friend. We needed a bassist so Courtland came over one time to jam, at the time I didn’t know who he was yet. We asked a few questions and I asked if I could feel the calluses on his fingertips. Only the best bassists have the best calluses. His hands were soft and rough at the same time instantly I was drawn to him. Two years later we were inseparable.

After visiting Courtland’s dad in Ramona we came across an antique shop called The Mason Jar. It was filled with gorgeous vintage antiques and fun collectibles, I came across what we now refer to as Miss Hams. She was a cute little porcelain piggy bank hand painted and small enough to fit in my palm. Courtland had seen me eye it down and decided to take a picture of it. We returned again a few weeks later (March 25th 2017) I saw Miss Hams again and I thought okay next time i’ll get her. Well we left and by the time we got back into Chula Vista it was night time. Courtland stopped by his old house in Imperial Beach and went inside for something. He drove us to the beach and pulled out a brown bag from the cars backseat. We walked along the sand and held hands. We stopped underneath a light and he gets down on one knee after handing me the brown bag and tells me to open it slowly. He starts reading off of a small piece of paper, I open the bag and see Miss Hams and a tiny deck of cards. He asked me to marry him and of course I said yes!
