It all started with an innocent “Teams call”. I was connecting with Darion to learn more about her role at the company, but very quickly the conversation turned from work to hearing about her passions outside of work. I immediately could tell there was a depth and passion for life that was extremely inviting. Darion from the moment I met her was someone of such quality, that I knew I needed to find a way for her to be involved in my life. Although I did think she was quite attractive, I truly was drawn in by her love of others, warm presence, and ability to have an in-depth conversation. Initially, the plan was to become friends with her, as she felt like a rare human to me. So, I tried, and well, she responded… kind of. We had many more conversations and inside jokes, and the friendship started to blossom. Again, I was blissfully unaware that she may be interested in me until one night, my sister asked who I was smiling at on teams at 8:00 PM. “Well, she’s a coworker I have become friends with.” My sister took one second to think and shared that she is interested, or else she would not be on her work phone texting me this late. Turns out I may have been falling for her because emotionally this news was quite good. So, one day at the office, I asked her to lunch! From then on, the rest is history. Just kidding. She invited a few other coworkers to lunch, and I immediately blamed my sister for giving me false hope. But yet again, we had great conversations, and she did not stop showing at least some interest. Well, maybe she is shy, I thought, and going on a date with a coworker is not something to take lightly. So over time, we continued to become friends until she decided to give me her number. At that point, I knew, "I HAVE HOPE". We then found ourselves on a date at a driving range. After we had a drink we shared more about our life goals, view of people, God, and what we want out of this life. Sold. Darion and I not only share a love for each other, but we also share a love for the big things of life. One is our people. We are very excited to continue to share our love and light by celebrating with you all at our wedding. Proclaiming our love, our story, and our devotion to one another amongst the people we love most.
