Four and a half years later and a move across the country to sunny LA, Darienne was doing her best to be patient while Louis preferred to draw things out for the ultimate surprise. But after months of 'maybe he will's' and a ton of coordination from Darienne's friends and family (special shout outs to Larn, Jenny, and Scott) an impromptu December trip to the Baltimore Aquarium with family ended with Louis on one knee in front of Darienne (who was so unprepared she was wearing taco socks) back in front of those same jellies. Neither of us remembers a thing that was said but tears were shed and all I care about was that she said yes.
It all started with the jellies. I was captivated by her curls and a mischievous smile and twinkle in her eye as she examined the floating ghosts at the Baltimore Aquarium. We met and exchanged info but didn't really expect anything to come from it considering the distance and various other differences and obstacles. But 8 months of texting, talking, FaceTiming and an "I love you" later, I was back on a plane to BWI to capture the girl who captured my heart.
