Houston & I have gone to the same school since fifth grade, that’s how we met. Have we been together since then you ask? Lol oh no no no, life has a particular way it does things. We did “date” in grade school. (And when I say “date” I mean we’d sit together at lunch, hold hands every now and then type of thing lol) It was meant to be! Right?? I thought so too :) but we was kids and we still had a lot of growing left to do. *Enter high school years* Houston & I did not associate with one another throughout all four years of high school. Lol!! How did this happen? Life! I’m telling you it’s a crazy thing. *Enter my second semester of college* You know what is also an unbelievable thing? How someone you haven’t talked to in years can pop back up in your life & have you thinking “Where have you been all my life!??” That’s what it was like for us. It was a “why did I ever let you go?” type of moment for us. If you ask Houston who had the guts to finally make a move he will most definitely NOT tell you it was me😆 He likes to believe he did, but that’s not how it went down. (We still bicker over this today) This second time around we both knew that this was it, you are my person❤️ Add a couple years, a proposal, our sweet baby girl & here we are today! Thankful, grateful, and very very blessed!✨

It happened on Christmas Eve in 2018. We originally had plans to go to Branson to see the Christmas lights, but little did we know they were closed on that day. Houston was unusually upset over it, like he was devastated that we couldn’t go see the lights there. I told him that there was plenty of other places to look at lights, I just didn’t understand why he was so upset... (I figured it out later lol) Anyway, we came home later that night, and as I was getting out of the truck he came over and helped me with my things. This also was kind of unusual, we normal just grab our things ourselves and carry on our way. Lol so as I shut the truck door I turn around to him kneeling down, holding out this tiny black box... and talk about instant butterflies in the stomach!!😍 he popped the question!✨ The reasoning behind why he was so upset over missing the Branson Christmas lights is because he had this whole plan to ask me there... he was going to have one of our friends take the candid pictures & propose in front over everyone! Isn’t he the sweetest??☺️
