A modern fairy tail... We both grew up in Orange County but never met until we both joined one of those dating apps, Tinder. Most app dates lead to either an extremely awkward first date or a good story, luckily ours turned out to be a good story. Daren reached out to Kelly when he recognized a local watering whole in her profile photo and their love sparked over a Mutt Lynch's schooner. We kept trying to meet up after months of texting and flirting but the busy holiday months ruined all our plans. Finally on Jan 3, 2014 they decided to meet for drinks. laughed and chatted the night away, getting to know one another until it got late and they decided to watch a "No Reservations" marathon on TV, it was the Spain episode, they spent the night talking about traveling and all the places they had been. It was their love for travel that took them on weekend road trips, Hawaii, Spain, Santa Barbara, San Francisco, San Diego, Catalina, Monterey . Fast forward ... four long years and on a weekend camping trip to one of Kelly's favorite childhood camping spots, and the annual Tarkeshian camp grounds, El Capitan Beach, they arrived to find out that they had accidentally booked an RV spot with no fire pit. Luckily a few spots were open but of course the last beach side spot was given away right before Daren got there. Kelly un-phased napped in the car meanwhile Daren spoke with the camp host. We finally got a spot walked along the beach, set up our tent and cooked a fabulous camping meal while playing gin rummy and drinking some wine. Daren went to the tent and came back with a paper bag, a surprise, he had snuck up for them to share! A wine bottle with a label created by Daren of all the places they have visited, Daren popped the question, or handed Kelly a bag (wine) and a box (a ring) : )
