I never believed in "love at first sight" until I met Juan. We met in September of 2014 at Fort Wayne's Country Fest. I was at the time coaching volleyball at Northrop High School. After practice, I got a phone call from a friend asking for me to come with her to Country Fest. One of her friends had an extra ticket to the event. I at first said no, I was, "too tired." After getting in my car, I started thinking about how lame I was for not going out and doing something fun for once. I called her back and told her I'd take the ticket. I got home, got ready, and headed to Parkview Field. I was walking around aimlessly trying to find my friend and the group that she was with. Trying to talk to her on the phone, I couldn't really get a good idea of where they even were until she handed the phone to her friend, Juan. Juan got on the phone and talked me through how to get to them. I will never forget the moment Juan walked between the line of cars on the phone. I was in awe. I quickly found out that Juan was with another girl as his "date." My friend and I went to go get a wine slushie at Rudy's and as we were walking I casually was asking her about her friend Juan. I asked if the girl was his girlfriend and she said, "Oh gosh no, Juan doesn't date girls, he's never had a girlfriend." It just happened to where Juan and I hit it off at the concert and even shared a pizza and a bottle of wine when it started to downpour. We started dating October 28th.
