We first met at our high school- Nansemond-Suffolk Academy. Addison was a freshman, and I was a sophomore. We went on our first date in January of 2012- the movies. Addison and his parents, Bill and Cindy, picked me up from my parent's house. Before leaving for the movies, both Addison and his parents came in to meet both my mom and dad- something that stood out to the three of us and made such a strong impression. His family quickly became part of mine (I even considered his family dog, Betty, as my own), and we spent the next three years side-by-side. Two proms, two ring dances, countless sporting events, shared friend groups- you name it! We were inseparable- until life had a bigger plan for the two of us to grow up in our own ways. As the next seven years went by, Addison and I continued to stay in contact. Birthdays were acknowledged, life events went celebrated... my dad even wrote Addison a recommendation letter for his MBA program at William and Mary. Even apart, we still managed to maintain some sort of presence in each other's lives- until life (or maybe Addison) decided that it was time for our paths to cross once again. I knew the moment that he came back into my life, that it would be forever. We cannot wait to celebrate the start of our forever with you all in Charlottesville- both of our families favorite town- this upcoming October!
