Marcus and Darci first noticed each other at Baylor University in the fall of 2003; however she was on her way out the door, considering she was a senior and he was just an entering freshman. Their eyes were set on two different goals. This was clearly a case of "timing is everything", because sixteen years passed, many lessons have been learned and that is what led the two of them to where we are today, The two reconnected over social media in January of 2019 (sometimes that has a benefit...lol) in a conversation which was meant to be nothing more than friendly banter but that turned into long emails, then to even longer phone calls. Marcus began traveling from Waco to Houston every weekend to visit Darci, which led to Marcus finding a job and moving to Houston. They adopted this mantra of, "watering the flower", which essentially means to continually work at their blooming relationship every day. Eleven months later, over the Thanksgiving holiday, the two became engaged in New York City's beautiful Central Park. And as the saying goes, "when you know, you just know". And they knew! Marcus and Darci have received nothing but love and support from all of their family and friends as they enter into the next chapter of their lives. They would like to thank all that are able to attend their ceremony and those who have it in their hearts to attend but are not able.
