we're getting hitched!

Pornchai likes to say the first time he saw Darby was on the TV in his high school classroom watching March Madness 2014 - Mercer vs Duke, future school vs favorite team, checking out the cheerleaders. While they didn't have the joy of fully meeting until 2016, Pornchai and Darby both felt that game to be a pivotal moment in their lives, one that would lead to this big day. Pornchai and Darby knew of each other at Mercer University before meeting. Many mutual friends, Alpha Delta Pi and Alpha Tau Omega functions, and Darby even popped up on her best friend Bristal's snapchats to Pornchai, before they said their first words to each other. The big introduction happened in an interview in March 2016. That's right, Darby interviewed Pornchai to be an orientation leader (PA), which served as their first official conversation. A Mercer/Duke joke was made. That's when Darby knew she at least had to hire him, and be his friend. Summer 2016 was a sweet season of life. Darby and Pornchai conducted all 6 orientation sessions together, and became close. While Pornchai likes to joke that Darby was his "boss" (even though she TECHNICALLY wasn't), they stayed connected through the rest of the summer. Mercer started classes, and on September 15, 2016, in front of the Barnes & Noble on Mercer's campus, Pornchai asked Darby to be his girlfriend. From studying together, to attending greek life functions, to meeting the families, to Darby moving to Mississippi and staying long distance, to Pornchai securing an awesome job in Jacksonville, to adopting their sweet pup Obie, to getting engaged, to buying a house, to laughter and grief and love and everything in between, Darby and Pornchai can't wait for their marriage to begin as a testament to their love story.
