It all started when Alicia Spiegel and Chloe Baker met through community theatre, which brought the Spiegel and Baker families together. The big reveal came during a family game night playing 'Fishbowl.' We slipped one of our inside jokes into the bowl, and when our families asked what it meant, Nico casually dropped, 'Well, my girlfriend would know!'—and the crowd went wild! In the months leading up to the proposal, Darby knew it was coming—she even thought she had it all figured out after spotting a calendar event on Nico's schedule titled 'Florida B...' on July 20th. Nico then brought up that a date to a botanical garden would be fun but couldn't decide between The Florida Botanical Gardens or Bok Tower Gardens. After a game of back and forth, Nico suggested visiting The Florida Botanical Gardens on June 22nd and saving Bok Tower for another time. Darby had fully convinced herself that this plan was a cover up so she wouldn't suspect anything on July 20th. Blissfully oblivious. On June 22nd, Nico picked out an outfit for Darby and the two set off for the Florida Botanical Gardens. As they strolled through and entered the Butterfly Garden, Darby noticed Greg, Alicia, Dan, and Nathalie hiding behind a bush with cameras pointed at her. Her first reaction was, 'What the heck?!'—still convinced this was just a strange coincidence and that Nico had forgotten to mention he invited the family. It wasn't until Dan Baker called out, 'Turn around!' that it all clicked. Darby spun around, and there was Nico, down on one knee. In a moment of total shock, disbelief, and pure happiness, she gave the easiest 'yes!' of her life.
