Darby's Version: Leo and I met through work! We're both real estate agents and in fact, he was the co-op agent on the first listing I ever sold. We met virtually during that transaction and met in person a few months later at a real estate class for new agents. I didn't say a word to him, nor did he say a word to me. We added each other on Facebook but didn't speak again until I saw him at my office in September of 2018. I'd been informed he was joining the brokerage I worked at and was so excited to have someone my age working there. We quickly became friends and went out with our friend groups a few times before I realized I liked him as more than a friend. We took a work trip to Phoenix in November of 2018, he bought me a drink, we walked around the downtown area for hours, talked about our upbringing and all of the things you talk about on a first date, and the night ended with him asking me to be his girlfriend... sort of. The last two years have flown by! We've traveled to numerous cities, created a million memories and are extremely excited to finally be married. Now, Leo's version: I have met many people. Most of the time when you meet one of these ‘people’, a dominating characteristic usually sticks out. Wether it’s the cashier at the gas station overcome with impatience or the egocentric car salesman that tells you you’re due for an upgrade and that you’ll die alone if you don’t. Aaaand then there’s Darby. Darby’s dominating characteristic was (and still is) pure selflessness. If it could be measured in radioactivity, she would kill everyone she meets.. This girl would give everything she has for everyone close to her in a truly genuine way. I have already had the best adventures i have ever experienced with her. In fact, the first day we started dating we fed giraffes together on a spur-of-the-moment decision to do so. Darby also hugged a cactus that day. Asking her to marry me was honestly an easy decision because she made it easy just being herself.
