FAQs

Question

Transportation

Answer

If you haven’t been to Puerto Vallarta before, or Mexico in general, the airport can be an intimidating place. Once you receive your luggage and walk-through customs, you’ll go travel through a busy hallway of vendors trying to get your attention. Do not make contact and walk directly outside of the airport. There are no hotel shuttles, so you’ll want to grab a taxi. The hotel is less than 10 minutes from the airport and the taxis have fixed pricing. For a car of 1-3, the cost is 266 pesos or $17 and an SUV/Van fitting 1-5 people costs 504 pesos or $33. For more information, click here. In terms of getting around the town once here, Uber and taxi is the most common method of transportation and relatively cheap compared to US prices.

Question

attire

Answer

The dress attire is beach chic. For the ladies is like a nice sundress. The weather is going to be around 90 degrees. The wedding is on grass so you don't have to worry about sand in your shoes. For the men short sleeve button down shirt and a light weight pair of pants like Dockers.

Question

Things to do

Answer

Whether you want to relax at the hotel beach or pool or explore the town, there is no shortage of things to do. Most activities can be booked at the hotel or on the Marina harbor. Don’t be bashful in asking Dara or I for suggestions. If you’d like to research ahead of time, you can click on this tripadvisor link for ideas Whether it be fishing, golf, day trips to downtown, Yelapa or Sayulita, there’s no shortage of things to do.

Question

Final Tips

Answer

-PV is very safe, but just like any other city, use your head and be aware of your surroundings. -At restaurants, if you have a card with no foreign transaction fees, you’ll want to pay in pesos when asked. -US Dollars are accepted at most restaurants, but as you can imagine, the exchange rate doesn’t favor us. Generally, the peso is roughly 20 to 1 if you are trying to do the math yourself. -You’ll see vendors on the beach and in the Marina. Just tell them, “No gracias.”

Question

Where to eat

Answer

Marina/Walkable -Mr Cream Pancakes and Waffles: Our favorite breakfast spot and a place that has something for everyone. You’re likely to see Dara enjoying an appetizer of the Temptation French Toast and Justin ordering the green chilaquiles. -Sonora Grill Prime: It is expensive, even by American standards, and you’ll want to book a reservation. Some words of advice…If you order a steak, you’ll want to order it one level below where you typically prefer (if you typically like medium, order medium rare). If you’re wanting to watch a game, you’ll probably want to visit the Fajita Banana. If you need a break from Mexican food and would like to try some of their Italian, La Terraza Di Roma. Outside of the Marina (Transportation Required) -Panchos Tacos or Pepe’s Taco: No trip to PV is complete for us until we visit one of these two places for their pastor tacos. Can’t recommend highly enough. They aren’t the prettiest or spacious of places, but these are the best pastor tacos you will ever have. -Andales and Margarita Grill: Two of our favorite places to grab cocktails downtown. If you’re a fan of the real housewives, one of the episodes was shot at Andales. -El Rio BBQ -Le Kliff: This one is a bit of a drive (roughly 45 mins from the hotel), but if you are looking for a romantic dinner, this would be highly recommended. The restaurant itself is built into the side of a cliff on the water, so the views are incredible. -Barcelona Tapas Bar: Another restaurant with a great view. Here you will dine on the rooftop with a postcard type lookout of the town and the ocean. -La Madalena: We haven’t yet visited this steakhouse, but many people have suggested. -Bordeaux: Another restaurant we have not personally tried, but this French restaurant comes highly rated from the Best Man and Maid of Honor!
