Meet the Cast - as written by the cast members of "The Wedding" and now "A Love Story"

Dara Dobe Sobek

Bride

Dara first met Zeke at Rochester Community and Technical College in the fall of 2011 where they became acquaintances. Shortly there after, Zeke stopped coming down to the music department hang and life for Dara moved on. Fate would cross their paths again in spring 2012 as Zeke reappeared and the social butterfly, Dara, stole the opportunity to break him out of his introverted, home schooled shell. The pair of friends went on many adventures and soon secretly developed feelings for each other. Feelings they separately denied to friends for a long time neither of them knowing the other also felt the same. Zeke had stolen her heart with his charm and humor and there was no turning back. She was hooked! Dara is ecstatic to be married to Zeke and celebrating with everyone... FINALLY!

Ezekiel Dobe Sobek

Groom

Emma Wegner

Maid of Honor

Behind every love story, like Zeke and Dara's, there are friends like Emma Wegner and the rest of the wedding party to support them. Emma and Dara met at church camp, where a love of musicals forged their bond. This bond grew to welcome Zeke and precious time spent counseling girls at camp. Emma knew, with Dara's creativity, the wedding with grace the stages of our hearts for many years. Today isn't about Emma and her life in southern Wisconsin, working at a wedding venue, or singing her heart out on stage. Truer words from "Wicked" couldn't be said: "So much of Emma is made of what she's learned from Dara and Zeke. They'll be with her like a hand print on her heart. And now whatever way this story ends, Emma knows Dara and Zeke have rewritten hers by being her friend."

Shane Braatz

Best Man

Shane has known Zeke and Dara for about 20 years – ever since rescuing them from the great fire in 2002. Since then, they have been on many adventures, such as the hostage exchange crisis of Berlin in 2014. Shane and Zeke’s relationship is the most beautiful and pure of all relationship types – that of wise mentor and dedicated student. Zeke has often expressed that “Shane is the Qui-Gon Jin to my Obiwan.” Dara and Shane are also very close, especially after Shane performed the emergency tracheotomy on her to save her life. Shane’s proudest moment is when he and Zeke together achieved their black belts in Northern Shaolin Kung Fu. As he is banned from officiating any more weddings in the state of Minnesota, Shane will be fulfilling the role of best man today.

December Cevallos

Matron of Honor - Sister of the Bride

December Sobek is a joyous person who can't wait to stand up and finally celebrate the happy couple. December's parents introduced her to Dara just moments after she was born, and they have been best friends ever since. Throughout the years, she has had much fun with Dara, from nightly games in corn fields with the neighborhood gang to sushi nights watching "White Chicks". December had the pleasure of meeting the famous Zeke about seven and a half years ago and has had a free technology mechanic ever since. December loved being in productions in high school, and was excited about her role in "The Wedding" last year. This year's production of "A Love Story" by far excites her the most!

Miranda Dulek

Groomswoman - Sister of the Groom

Every epic love story such as this includes those who have been around since the first act. One fateful night years ago, Miranda first met Zeke. They hit it off and have been tight ever since. Growing up in the same home was entertaining, though dramatic, with Casper making messes on Zeke’s behalf, or Miranda waking in the middle of the night to Zeke’s face, ending in a shared sleeping arrangement for a night. Nerding out to “Star Wars” or Zeke winning in “Twisted Metal” were common events. Then, “Guitar Hero” came along, but she was still no match. In 2012, Miranda met Dara, and their friendship has blossomed from there. The bond that Zeke and Dara have developed over time is truly “inconceivable” and has led to their biggest production yet, which Miranda is thrilled to be a part of.

Brianna Skalicky

Bridesmaid

My name is Brianna Skalicky, friend of the Bride and Groom. Brianna met Dara when when her family moved to Altura and Dave became the Pastor at our church. There have been many adventures to be had whether at school dances or church camp. Although we were both young, Brianna has always felt she and Dara were sister's in heart, soul and mind. It was through Dara that Brianna met Zeke and the adventures have continued. Whether it's running through the rain getting Chipotle with Zeke, Singing loudly at a Taylor Swift Concert with Dara or late night conversations at Red Lobster, there's always a laugh to be had and love to be felt. Brianna feels so honored to know Dara and Zeke in this lifetime and blessed to support them on their next adventure. Oh what an adventure it will be!

Casey Saunders

Groomsman

Casey has known both the bride and groom since before they started dating. Casey first met Dara in the RCTC music department and there was an instant spark of a sibling type relationship. A little while later Zeke came along and another instant friendship took flight. To this day they may not get to see each other much, but every time they get together they don’t miss a beat! They have also been on numerous adventures together from going to the Ren fest to living together for a few weeks! Casey is over the moon to be a part of their big day and wishes them the best!

Marissa Braatz

Bridesmaid

Though Dara and Marissa met through their now husbands, their friendship could not be stronger. Early on the group started their Tuesday Night Shenanigans, the weekly game nights that have become sacred to the group. Dara and Marissa’s friendship grew as they spent time painting ceramics and binging The Bachelor. Some of Marissa’s fondest memories with the couple are tubing down the Root River, attending musicals, and going on a spooky trolley tour. The best time was helping Zeke with the proposal: While the friends attended “Shrek: The Musical,” Marissa warmly recalls holding onto Dara’s soon-to-be engagement ring and waiting to bask in their moment as they did for Shane and Marissa’s proposal. Marissa wishes the couple a lifetime of happiness and to forever hold Tuesdays as sacred.

Derek Sobek

Groomsman - Brother of the Bride

Derek has known Dara From the Beginning, through the process called the Circle of Life. High school came and went, the two harassing and giving the music teachers a ton of Trouble, and not One Day More would they find themselves at RCTC, and the many Seasons of Love that started, never thinking that he'd lose her. But then along came Zeke and that's when she got lost in Somebody's Eyes and at that moment they were past the Point of No Return. Her Happiness was Somewhere Over the Rainbow, Defying Gravity even. And whether it was By the Sea or Under the Sea, the two were inseparable, their love and affection flourishing with the Sound of Music. One could say it was All for the Best. And after many years together, they finally Seized the Day. And all Derek can say is Thank You for the Music!

Alyssa Nelson

Bridesmaid

Alyssa Nelson has known the bride since they were babies (they have the original and recreated pictures to prove it). While she and Dara did not spend much of their childhood together, in middle school they went to the same church camp, and rekindled the friendship they had as babies. It was always a highlight of the summer to go to camp with the bride, and eventually the groom as he joined later. Alyssa and Dara have remained close, even though they are no longer going to church camp together. Their church camp friends often try and find a time to have "girls weekend", aka a weekend of doing nothing but with friends!

Dakota Sobek

Groomsman - Brother of the Bride

Being the bride’s youngest brother Dakota has known Dara since the day he was born. Dakota has always looked up to his older sister growing up whether it be playing in the yard or setting an example. A little while after Dara started going to RCTC Dara met Zeke which eventually lead to Zeke meeting Dakota and thus forming a strong friendship. Since that day their bond would only grow closer given time whether it be high school events or just a casual visit home. So when the time came where Zeke would ask the four word question Dakota was more than excited and prepared of the upcoming events that would unfold. After years of waiting Dakota is overjoyed to be a part of this one night show and happy it has finally come!

Kayla Pike

Bridesmaid

Kayla met the bride and groom in May 2014. Kayla and Dara were hired at Color Me Mine at the same time. Kayla is shy and highly introverted - which Dara picked up on right away when they met. Being the bubbly and friendly extrovert she is, she took it upon herself to adopt Kayla as her friend. After this, she was introduced to Zeke. Their love of art, internet memes, Markiplier, Disney, and Pokemon hunting brought them a lot closer. They enjoy spending time together on weekends (when able), catching up over drinks, pretzels, and cheese that Dara "only eats when she's at Kayla's", silly YouTube videos, playing video games, or watching Stranger things.

Buzz Peterson

Groomsman

Buzz met both Zeke and Dara at RCTC at the music department. The friendship immediately sparked due to Zeke and Dara being super friendly and very approachable. Since then a relationship developed that would blossom into a lifelong friendship. From school field trips, to watching the lost skeleton of cadavra and quoting it constantly, to going to valley fair on Halloween for a night of frights and excitement, Buzz is grateful to have met and continues to love these two people for years to come and wishes them both the best from this day to the end of time.

Austin Gratz

Usher

Austin met Zeke while working at Best Buy, it wasn't long before he met Dara. At first it was simply work acquaintances but that would change very quickly once Zeke and Austin shared a small box truck together. As time went on, Austin got to know Zeke and Dara better and a unique friendship sparked quickly and spread like wildfire. Austin became Zeke and Dara's first roommate (Other than each other) once they purchased their home together. Spending that much time together set the friendship in stone and even though Austin has moved away, it never feels as though they've been apart when they get together.

Kevin Pike

Usher

After Kevin successfully escaped the clutches of the U.S. Government in 2017, he returned home to Minnesota. He met Dara and Zeke by accident through his wife Kayla. It is rumored that he was not favored by Dara, but through the power of Kerry Gold cheese he managed to win Dara's trust. Being a very average entrepreneur, he has tried many get rich quick schemes. Most recently cardboard graphics cards on eBay. This did not work, so Kevin could not send Dara and Zeke to Bora Bora for their honeymoon. Kevin believes that by 2040 he could fly the whole party to France once his computer accident law firm takes off.

Spencer Basarich

Usher

Rewind back to a simple time. Recently fleeing the Twin Cities, Spencer took what seemed to be a normal job at Best Buy. What he did not expect was to find a possible doppelgänger, under the alias Zeke working there. Overtime the two decided that they did not need to remove one another, but could in fact coexist. This branched further and the two would grow closer, leading to the introduction to Dara and infrequent gaming sessions. After a few years and many mistaken identities the two remain close friends. The interests they share led to many memes, inside jokes and fun times between all, and they are counted among the closest circle of friendships.

Benjamin Carter

Usher

A friendship is typically born of nice deeds and caring gestures, but that was not the case here with Zeke and Ben. The friendship that grew between those two started with a simple thought from Ben, "Wow, what a bleeping d-bag!" It was from here that a concrete friendship of ridicule and sharp jabs grew and grew. Insults were flung around but never sticking due to their friendly weight. As their Friendship of the Jerk grew it needed another member, and that is when Dara seemingly appeared from thin air. Seriously, Benjamin has no memory of how he and she specifically met! That didn't matter of course because the pair were quickly sparring but not with sharp insults, but with sass of the silly variety. From that point on the three became inter-tangled in an odd but awesome friendship.

Matthew Steele

Ring Bearer

Matthew is Dara's cousin/godson and hasn't known life without Zeke or Dara! He enjoys spending time with Zeke... especially when Zeke plays video games with him (which doesn't take much convincing). Matthew spends a lot of his time playing outside with his sisters and brother. He was very excited about taking part in "The Wedding" and now, a year later, being in the production of "A Love Story." Don't worry ladies, he's still single!

Mayson Steele

Ring Bearer

Mayson is Dara's cousin and Matthew's younger brother. Mayson has also known Zeke his entire life. They were asked to be ring bearers and were excited to open their basket with candy and nerf guns. Mayson agreed to be "Ring Security" under the stipulation that he could protect Dara's ring and only Dara's ring. He takes his job very seriously and isn't afraid to protect it at all costs! He can't wait to participate in this one night only production and hopes to shred the dance floor with his fancy footwork so you better watch out!

Sophie Pike

Flower Girl

Sophie has known Dara and Zeke for over half of her young life. She loves them both to pieces. She enjoys spending time with them by playing video games, doing arts and crafts, watching TV or munching on snacks. She's got a soft spot for Zeke and probably always will. The bride and groom will always be a huge part of Sophie's life as they have watched her grow up over the years. They have a special bond being such wonderful role models and friends in her life.
