MGM has a direct American Airlines flight from D.C. and a connecting flight option from Miami. MGM Airport is a 1 hr drive to Opelika. We recommend renting a car from the airport for the weekend if flying into MGM.

Atlanta airport has direct flights from D.C. and Miami and is only an 80 min drive to Opelika. We recommend renting a car for the weekend from the airport or using the Groome Shuttle Bus service to Opelika. Details for Groome are below.

Travel Note

Airport Shuttle - Groome Transportation to Opelika/Auburn

The Groome shuttle runs several round trips a day from the Atlanta Airport to the Home2Suites hotel in Opelika. We think it's the most hassle free way to get to and from the airport if you're not renting a car. The shuttle will drop you off at Home 2 Suites Hotel in Tiger Town (Opelika). The Shuttle is $53.00 each way but you must reserve each trip in advance.

We have a wedding room block through the link below that offers a King Bed for $139 per night and two queen beds for $159 per night. Please reach out to the bride or groom if you have trouble accessing the room block rate. The Groome Shuttle bus service will pick up and drop off here from the Atlanta Airport. Reservations must be made in advance to use the shuttle. There are other walkable hotel options in the same area, but the Groome Shuttle service will pick up and drop off at this location. A bus will depart from here at 4:15 pm to shuttle guests to the wedding ceremony. The bus will also shuttle guests back to the hotel after the wedding reception at 11pm.

Resort activities, which include resort-style pools with bar service, as well as 8 tennis courts, 4 pickleball courts, the RTG golf course, and an award-winning Spa. A bus will depart from here at 4:15 pm to shuttle guests to the wedding ceremony location. The bus will also provide transportation back to the hotel after the reception.
