The couple met during the MLK weekend in January at a Party in Brooklyn, NY. Vladimir admired Daphney’s beauty from across the room and was contemplating a way to approach her. Miraculously,Daphney ended up standing at a high top table at arms length to Vlads table. When Vlad noticed this, he took the opportunity to “shoot his shot” and he did. The two had small talk, laughed, and danced all night together. It was an instant connection. Although Vlad lived in Philadelphia and Daphney lived in Boston, the distance didn’t stop love from blossoming. Vlad flew into Boston almost every weekend to spend time with Ms Daphney. After talking and dating each other for a little while, Vlad asked Daphney to be his girlfriend in April. It didn’t take too long shortly after that for the couple to realize that they were the one for each other.

Vladimir knew that Daphney was the woman that he wanted to spend the rest of his life with,so he planned a trip to the Dominican Republic in December to propose to his Queen. Vladimir worked along with the coordinators at the resort to help bring his vision to life. Since it was Daphney’s birthday weekend, she didn’t think anything of the trip. Daphney thought it was just a cute little birthday getaway planned by her man. She had no clue that a very clever Vladimir had an entire proposal planned and set up in the DR. The day of the proposal was Daphney’s 30th birthday. Vladimir informed Daphney that they had a scheduled reservation for an elegant dinner. As the couple began walking down the resort and to their destination,an extremely nervous Vladimir stopped,pulled out a blindfold, and convinced Daphney to put it on. ( those that know Daphney, are aware that she is difficult to surprise) She finally complied and put on the blindfold and held on Vladimir’s hand to guide her. As the couple continued walking, Daphney says she recalls hearing the sounds of the waves and smell the ocean, so a very confidant Daphney was certain that her lovely boyfriend (at the time) was surprising her with a Romantic dinner by the beach. When Vladimir took the blindfold off His soon to be fiancé, the look on her face was priceless, Daphney was taken by surprise with a huge “Marry Me” sign, along with candles, and rose petals and photographers standing nearby. A very nervous Vladimir ( who was not expecting a huge crowd of “on lookers” at the resort ) got on knee and asked Daphney to marry him. Daphney screamed a loud “YES !” and there you have it, the couple is engaged !! We’re so excited to celebrate this next chapter in our lives with you!! See you at the Indian Pond country Club :)
