Question

Will it be safe to come to the wedding?

Answer

We hope so! We will be doing what we can to mitigate as much risk as we are able. Each person's and family's judgement of risk is individual and personal. We will ask you to comply with the state health officials recommendations, venue policies and procedures, and our personal preferences. We will understand if you do not feel attending is a safe option for you and will welcome a change in your RSVP at any time. We will supply you with the information we have if you inquire! Please do not hesitate to text, call, or email us.

Question

Regretfully, we won't be able to come. Will we miss out completely?

Answer

NO! We will be streaming the ceremony and hope you will join us virtually. RSVP so we can make sure you have what you need to be able to participate at home!

Question

I've never been to a wedding in COVID. What will it be like?

Answer

We haven't either! Here's what we do know: Masks. Sanitizing. Socially distant when possible. You know the drill. O'Shea's will require all that enter to be wearing a mask. We will be providing masks for you, too! Our ceremony will be outdoors. We ask that our guests wear masks when not eating or drinking. We will want everyone to be masked when hugging (only if you're comfortable) or in close contact with others. We trust that you will use your best judgement, but will err on the side of caution. Washing hands and sanitizing when possible - we hope you already are in the habit of washing your hands after you use the restroom! Wash your hands often to help reduce the spread! While our guest numbers are in flux, we anticipate the venue capacity to be at or less than 50%. WE SO WISH that our friends and family from all phases of our lives could intermingle, but in *unprecedented times* we encourage you to keep socially distant from those outside your family.

Question

The reality of 2020.

Answer

Our new normal is that there is no new normal. Months of social unrest and protests have taken place in Louisville in the downtown area after the murder of Breonna Taylor and the subsequent verdict of the state's grand jury to not charge the police officers responsible. Over 140 days of protests and 500 arrests have been made. There is no way to predict whether or not protests may be happening at the time and in the location of our wedding. We believe Black Lives Matter and justice has not prevailed for Breonna. Simultaneously, election season is happening and there are many unknowns about what outcomes will be. We are committed to being adaptable and respectful should there be protests or demonstrations and expect that our guests will be, too. Your up-to-date RSVP is important to be able to communicate to you any additional information you may need to know. Our day will be full of love, but our hearts are also heavy.
