While in college we met at Piano Bar, one Wednesday night. We bonded over Cole living in the same rental house, that I lived in the previous year. In the days after meeting, Sophie (a mutual friend to both) pushed each of us to be more interested in the other. On our first official date, Cole cooked a steak dinner and he instantly had my attention. Our second date was Valentine's Day 2019, Cole took me to a fancy Italian restaurant. When neither of us could finish our meal being proper and instead began shoveling it in, we knew there was a spark! After a month of dating, Cole asked me to be his girlfriend and we celebrated with way too much food at IHOP at 4 am. We spent the summer together and went on each other's family vacations. When I moved to KC, Cole started his last year of nursing school in Springfield. Although we did long distance for 7 months, we spent almost every weekend together. In December 2019, Cole and I took our first trip by ourselves to Estes Park, Colorado. It was absolutely stunning to see the mountains in the winter and just enjoy each other's company. When the pandemic hit in March 2020, we basically moved in together. We learned that we could spend 24/7 together and not kill each other. After graduating, Cole officially moved to KC and we have continued our breakfast dates, date nights, and falling in love. In October 2021, we took a family trip to Estes Park, Colorado. On October 22, 2021, in Rocky Mountain National Park Cole got down on one knee, opened a ring box with a ring pop stuck to the top, and asked me to spend the rest of our lives together! Without pause I said YES and then proceeded to remind him not to drop the real ring in the water behind us.
