We're getting married!

Daphne "Lucy" was born in Seoul, South Korea. She was soon adopted by her loving parents, Dave & Deb. She was warmly welcomed by her parents and three older brothers upon her arrival to the United States. Daphne was raised in South Dakota and served in the US Navy after high school. After serving, she spent the next 9 years exploring through travel and moving to several different cities throughout Georgia. She began her management career in hospitality within country clubs at this time. Daphne had come to visit Washington DC a handful of times before finally pulling the trigger and making the move towards the end of the pandemic in 2021. She is currently an interior designer within the DMV and spends her free time creating DIY projects and spoiling Abbey (their English Bulldog). William was born and raised over 7,000 miles away in North Carolina with his older sister, Chelsea, by their parents, Bill and Pat. In 2010, he joined the United States Coast Guard being stationed around the country from California to Florida. After 10 years, he finished his active-duty career in Washington, DC serving in the White House Situation Room. William remains at the White House in a civilian capacity and spends his free time cooking and traveling with Lucy any chance they get.

The day started leisurely with breakfast in bed followed by thrifting in NW DC. After spending time with friends at the White House, Will suggested a walk around the National Mall. Naturally, Daphne wanted to casually (and slowly) wander around. With the photographer on standby, Will had expressed a desperate desire to walk "a little faster". When she asked him why he was such a hurry, he quickly responded, "The sun! We should watch the sunset at the Lincoln Memorial." Nearly running, the two made it to their destination just in time. As Daphne was catching her breath and admiring the view of the Reflection Pool, Will was kindly asking all the tourists to please move out of the way so he could finally make his move. As she turned around to look for Will, he was perfectly in place on one knee with ring in hand.
