Daniel and Victoria met at Dallas Baptist University. At an international event on campus, Victoria was working and Daniel was volunteering. They talked with each other the whole event long, finding a lot of things in common, sharing music, and practicing their second languages together. From that day, they just wanted to get to know each other more, and it was easy to become good friends because of their many mutual friends, including a sweet, stray cat that lived on campus.
Daniel asked Victoria to be his girlfriend one evening after sharing their goals, dreams, and callings in life with each other. They have loved spending quality time together doing things such as going on walks, cooking together, watching movies, and even studying together. They traveled to Chiapas, México in December of 2020 to stay with Daniel's family, and they made some of their favorite memories there. They are so excited for all the memories to be made!
Daniel took Victoria to the Japanese Botanical Garden in Fort Worth to take pictures while his family was in town. But things "weren't going as planned" when Daniel's family and the photographer were all running late. Victoria and Daniel were walking around while they "waited" and talked about all the places they would like to travel to together someday. That was when Daniel knelt down with a beautiful ring and asked Victoria to spend the rest of her life with him. She said yes, of course, and they met Daniel's family back at the Buckingham home for a suprise engagement party!
We are beyond excited to say "I do" and spend the rest of our lives together in a holy covenant before God. It will be a wonderful blessing to spend such a special day with our close friends and family. We can't wait to see you there!
