Dany and Nathan both attended River Pointe Church in Richmond, Tx for many years. They’d seen each other in passing, but had never really had a conversation. It wasn’t until the late summer of 2015, when they finally began to interact with each other. They had begun to volunteer together in the youth ministry at the church. Volunteering together meant that every Sunday, they were helping out the students, talking, and ultimately just having a lot of fun while serving. This continued for many months and a strong friendship formed. Nathan thought Dany was beautiful and awesome to be around, and Dany thought Nathan was cute and a nice guy, but neither were looking for a relationship at the time. They were “just friends” that couldn’t stop talking to one another and always finding a reason to be near each other. Nathan liked Dany, but wasn’t sure if she liked him back. Then, the fall festival at church came around and Dany was asking Nathan to go. Nathan didn’t want to go at first but he couldn’t say no to her. Dany was glad that Nathan went and even tried to give him a hug while covered in chocolate syrup (nathan hates getting dirty), causing Nathan to slip on a pool of water balloons and fall on his butt. Nathan was embarrassed, but it was then that he realized that Dany liked him back. He began to pursue her differently, asking her on a date soon after. She agreed, they went, had a great time, and soon Nathan asked her to be his girlfriend. Dany was going through some things and said that now wasn’t the time. Nathan, persistent because he knew that she was the girl for him, waited a while, and asked again. Still, Dany said no. One more cycle, and finally Dany gave in and said yes. 3rd time’s a charm! They dated through high school, experienced college life at Texas A&M together, and are now engaged and ready to start the next chapter in their lives. Over 5 years later now, and they are still those same great friends they once were, except now, they’re in love!
