His Story

It all starts when I first saw Hannah John at a conference which she was emceeing on Jan 13-15, 2023. I remember walking past her and feeling like we had a moment...thinking she noticed me. AGHH the butterflies, the fireworks...But then finding out a long time later that SHE NEVER EVEN KNEW I EXISTED until Nov 2023 (whatever, I'm over it haha). Although we had never talked or interacted at that time, that was the first time I saw the person that would change my life forever! Fast forward to a few months later on November 5th, 2023, where I would see a re-posted story of Hannah on Instagram. I messaged one of my friends, Alex Andrew, if he knew anything about this same person that I had noticed at the beginning of the year at the conference. Alex said he knew her and vouched for Hannah’s character. Looking back at old texts, I asked, “Have you ever had any convos with her? Is she decent?”, to which he replied, “She’s solid”. Alex would go on to text a friend, Sneha, to see if Hannah was “on the market”. 1 week went by. Nothing. 2 weeks went by. Still no response from Alex. At the 3 week mark, I asked Alex if he had any updates - he had nothing. Since it had been 3 weeks of no movement on this mission, I resolved in my heart that Hannah was not interested. Shooter’s shot. At least I tried… But then at the 4 week mark, I got the golden text back from Alex: “Good new broski”. It was a screenshot of Hannah’s conversation with Sneha, essentially stating that after praying and getting advice, she was interested in getting to know me (*fireworks*). I was excited, nervous, all the emotions! I would go on to get Hannah’s number, introduce myself, and set up a first FaceTime conversation. On Dec 7, 2023, we had our first conversation and it felt so natural! We ended up talking for 4 hours, but it honestly felt like 1 hour. Turns out this Chicago girl, who was in school in Indianapolis, Indiana, was somehow on a clinical rotation in small town Adrian, Michigan. This was 1.5 hrs away from me, so I had to go see her! We decided to meet up the next day in person at a Christmas-tree lighting ceremony. We got to learn a lot about each other on that first date and we were interested in continuing to hang out. In the next few weeks/months, we were intentional on building a friendship and getting to know each other more deeply. We were also clear about our goals to get married in the future, being respectful of each other’s hearts in the process. We saw God’s hand in our own different ways of how He confirmed certain things that would give us guidance and assurance regarding the future of our relationship. Throughout the rest of 2024, we would get to enjoy time meeting each other’s families and friends, forming the foundation of love we have for each other now. As I look back on how I met Hannah, I am grateful for God’s hand through it all. There are countless stories and realities of how God guided Hannah and I to each other. These two things are true for me: God’s timing is perfect, and He gives his children the best gifts. Every good and perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of the heavenly lights, who does not change like shifting shadows. James 1:17

Her Story

Let me set the scene: I'm going in between classes in the Uindy Health Pavilion when I get a very vague text from my well connected friend, Sneha George. "Hey are you on the dating market per chance :p someone is asking for a friend haha." To which I responded "LOL it depends on who's asking." She proceeded to give many more vague details about this mystery guy along with mutual friends that could vouch for him; I told her I would pray about it and get back to her. In my fast-paced rotation schedule and after talking to friends and mentors, I texted Sneha back...a month later, saying that I would be interested in getting to know him if he was still interested. Two days later I get a text from Dany introducing himself and seeing if I was free for a FaceTime or call sometime soon. A couple days later we FaceTimed for 4 hours, covering all the basics and losing track of time. I also let him know that I was conveniently in Adrian, Michigan for a rotation, but I was only free for one weekend, so we met in person at a small town Christmas Tree Lighting. I remember thinking Dany was very respectful and caring, and would do anything to make me laugh (which is still true). If you know Dany, you know he loves to ask questions which makes it very easy to talk to him. After more FaceTimes and dates, I realized that most of my day I was thinking about when I could talk to Dany next. So we kept talking and laughing and eventually it turned into us meeting the families, meeting friends, making it official, talking about a future wedding, and Dany proposing!! Looking back, there were so many moments where I asked God for confirmation of our relationship and He provided it in specific ways. I am so excited and grateful that I get to spend my life with God's amazing gift to me. So they are no longer two, but one flesh. Therefore what God has joined together, let no one separate Matthew 19:6
