Christine and Danton’s story began in Copper Mountain, CO while both were on separate ski trips with their friends. Even though they met on their last day there, they found a way to talk to each other every day since.

Ever since Christine was a little girl, she absolutely loved going to the tree farm to pick out the perfect Christmas tree to put in her parents living room. Danton on the other hand, never had the pleasure of getting sap all over his hands while dragging a Christmas tree to the cart to be wheeled to the car or having to clean up all the pines off of the carpet when the tree starts deteriorating. So Christine wanted to share this special moment with Danton and take him Christmas tree hunting! After about an hour of going up and down the tree farm, doing mental math on which trees would be able to fit on the car and in the door, Danton found the one. At the time Christine didn’t know it, but that one was her! He called her over to this beautiful tree to get her input. As many of you know, when picking out a tree they have to be “tagged” in order to be purchased. Christine asked Danton if he saw a tag on the tree. “I think it’s on the base of the tree,” Danton retorted, as he got down on one knee to look. That’s when he asked Christine to go with him to pick out a tree from this day forward to their end of days and to be his wife. Christine responded with, “Did you see the tag down there?” Long story short, the tree they wanted wasn’t tagged.
