We're getting married!

We met as high schoolers in youth group, spending our first summer together in Lakeside and Appalachia. Fast forward nearly 8 years, we finally get to celebrate our love and say "I do" surrounded by those closest to us who helped us navigate through the various milestones that college and young adulthood have brought. We know that our love story has many more chapters that we look forward to sharing with you all!

Alex and I had been putting off finishing decorating our Christmas tree. The plan was to finish decorating the tree with a Christmas movie in the background that evening. We had just said goodbye to visiting family and a very excited Alex decided we should decorate the tree now. He picked a fireplace with soft Christmas music to play on the TV and he lit the Christmas tree lights. He started pulling out our ornaments and he placed one on the tree. With a big smile, he told me it was my turn, and so I got up and picked out an ornament and very thoughtfully found the perfect spot for it. I turned back to see if he liked it and I found Alex down on one knee with a ring box in his hand. Next thing I know, the most beautiful ring was on my ringer and Alex and I were caught up in a tear-filled embrace. An intimate proposal just like we wanted!
