Every relationship has a story and this is ours. After years as a professional single lady, Danielle decided to give online dating a chance. She swiped right on what looked like a local boy from the east side of Oahu. Imagine her surprise to find out he was actually a Southern boy all the way from Mississippi! They began talking and he definitely used that Southern charm to win her over. They bonded over motorcycle rides and oxtail soup. Shea would say he’d lived a whole life before meeting Danielle. Born and raised in Biloxi, Mississippi Hawai’i had never crossed his mind. But when his daughter was moving to Hawaii Shea packed up his life and went to be close to her. Shea had been in Hawaii for two years before swiping right and meeting Dano. She didn’t know quite what to make of this really nice guy who called her “ma’am” and sometimes hollered at his friends in pidgin. To say she was intrigued would be an understatement. Our first date was more like five dates in one weekend. Apparently we couldn’t get enough of each other. We hit it off so well that we decided to make our relationship “official” a month and a half later. After dating for a year, Shea took a job opportunity in San Francisco as an elevator mechanic and we reluctantly took on the daunting task of a long distance relationship. While it wasn’t easy, we somehow made it work. When COVID hit Danielle got the opportunity to work remotely and began spending longer and longer periods of time stateside with Shea. His job took them all over the country but Danielle was up for the adventure. Together we’ve traveled the country and now the world. From the swamps of the South to the beaches of Hawaii to the Swiss Alps we’ve been on countless adventures. But our most exciting adventure to-date is the one we’ll embark on this October. We’re so excited to get married in the place where our story started. And we can’t think of anyone else we’d want to share this with than you!
