Don't get in line or pay to see the Statue of Liberty. Ride the Staten Island Ferry for free, where it goes right up along side the Statue of Liberty. Make sure you are at the open back part of the ferry to get the best view of the Statue of Liberty and Manhattan. The ferry comes every 30 minutes.
If there is one museum you are going to see while in NYC, make it The Met. Located on 5th Ave and 82nd Street, it sits on the edge of Central Park on the east side, so you can visit the park at the same time. Go to the roof of the Met to get amazing views of the park.
