Question

Are kids invited?

Answer

We love your kids—we really do. But, we want our wedding celebration to be your weekend off! All wedding events are adults-only.

Question

Are there any travel restrictions?

Answer

As of June 30, 2021, a negative COVID-19 test is no longer required to enter Colombia. All airline passengers entering the United States ages two years and older must provide a negative COVID-19 viral test taken within three calendar days of travel. We will continue to monitor travel restrictions and updates. You can visit this website for additional information: https://co.usembassy.gov/covid-19-information/ Biocare Medical S.A.S. is a private provider of COVID-19 tests that will come to you and provide the results in 5 hours. To schedule an appointment, you can contact them by phone at +57 5 666 0659 / +57 304 212 7880 / +57 301 601 6912, or by email at info@biocaremedical.com.co. For those staying at the Sofitel Legend Santa Clara, you can contact the hotel's concierge to arrange testing.

Question

What is the Cartagena airport like?

Answer

Cartagena's airport has one international terminal only, and it gets very crowded during high season. After landing in Cartagena, you might be waiting at the customs line for at least an hour. There is a priority line for pregnant women and seniors. Taxis are easily accessible as soon as you exit the terminal. It should cost approximately 7 dollars to get from the airport to the Walled City. If you are staying at the Sofitel Santa Clara, the hotel can accommodate shuttle service from the airport to the hotel. On your way back to the US, we suggest you arrive at the Cartagena airport at least two hours in advance so as to not risk missing your flight back home.

Question

How far is the airport from the Walled City?

Answer

Approximately 15 - 20 minutes, depending on traffic.

Question

What are the dress codes?

Answer

Smart Casual/Tropical Chic for the Welcome Cocktail, Resort Casual (and also Beach attire for those who want to soak up the sun and enjoy the beach) for the Beach Day, and Summer Black Tie for the Wedding Ceremony/Reception. For "Summer" or "Warm Weather" Black Tie ideas, please visit the following websites: http://www.styledevent.com/uncategorized/black-tie-in-july/ https://www.jetsetchristina.com/what-to-wear-to-a-summer-wedding-this-summer-2019/ https://classroom.synonym.com/wear-summer-blacktie-affair-13642.html

Question

Is there a shuttle to and from the hotel to the ceremony?

Answer

Yes, check out our Travel & Accommodations page for all the info you need.

Question

Where are the Ceremony and Reception taking place?

Answer

The Ceremony will be taking place at the Cathedral of Santa Alejandria, and the Reception will be taking place at Casa 1537. We will be walking from the Cathedral to the Reception. There will a shuttle outside of the Cathedral taking guests to the Reception for those who prefer not to walk.

Question

Will the Welcome Cocktail, Beach Day, and Wedding be indoors or outdoors?

Answer

The Welcome Cocktail and the Beach Day are outdoor events. The Ceremony and Reception will both be indoors, with a short, outdoor Cocktail Hour in between. Note: There is no AC in the Cathedral. We highly discourage our guests from walking to the Cathedral (in the scolding heat and wearing tuxes), and instead suggest that our guests take transportation with AC directly from their Airbnb/hotel to the Cathedral. If you are staying at the Hotel Sofitel Santa Clara, we are providing transportation. The shuttles will depart from the Sofitel Santa Clara starting at 4 pm.

Question

What is the weather like in Cartagena?

Answer

Extremely hot! All year round. The temperature drops slightly from December through March.

Question

How to pay in Cartagena

Answer

Credit cards are widely accepted. However, we recommend carrying a small amount of cash because many places are cash-only. When paying with a credit card, you may be asked "¿En cuantas cuotas?" (how many payments?). Customers in Colombia are given the choice to divide the payment over one to 24 months. Foreign cardholders should just say "una" (or one).
