We recommend taking Ubers (the app works fine in Brazil, but only take the car you have ordered through the app - At GIG Airport, pickups are done on the departures floor at Terminals 1 and 2. Head upstairs and meet your driver at the pickup point you selected!). If you want to schedule a private transfer or go with a bigger group, Gabi and Danny can share the shuttle service number and help you arrange ahead of time.
The ceremony is in a little island (Ilha da Gigoia). First, you should take an uber or yellow taxi to Av. Armando Lombardi, 350 - Barra da Tijuca, Rio de Janeiro - RJ, 22640-000, Brazil. There you'll be welcomed by our wedding team to take the 5 minute boat ride to our ceremony location! There will be an exclusive boat available for us the entire afternoon/evening.
There are no requirements! The yellow-fever vaccine is recommended for some parts of the country (especially the north and northeast), but not mandatory for where you'll be for the wedding.
Brazil uses BRL (Brazilian Real pronounced: "Hey-Ow") which amounts to about $1 USD to $5 BRL. Credit Cards are widely accepted in Brazilian restaurants and formal establishments (always use the credit options, not debit!), however we recommend you bring some cash for casual purchases (at the beach, street markets, etc) and impromptu taxi rides. For currency exchange, prioritize using the exchange options and ATMs at the airport.
