Danny and I first met in late 2013 in an English class at, what was then called, Edison State College. We officially began dating April 2014 after messaging for a few days back and forth on Facebook. We missed the movie we had originally planned to see and ended up staying up till 4am getting to know each other. From our first date, it was clear we weren't interested in trying to impress each other. Instead, we both came with the approach that we wanted to be ourselves entirely and that we'd probably weird or annoy each other and not waste any time in trying to make something work that wouldn't. Well, it proved to be the greatest foundation to our relationship. Since our first date, we've been inseparable and completely honest and open with each other. Sometimes, maybe, too much. But we wouldn't have it any other way. For a long time, several years in fact, we didn't really see the purpose of getting married. Within the first year of dating, we decided that we chose each other. We were going to make it work, no matter what. But, we didn't see how marriage was important to any of that. It was something we were going to figure out on our own. And that was partly because we didn't realize just how important God was to our life. We spent a long majority of our relationship, relying on ourselves, on one another. For everything. Even though the majority of our years were amazing, we often struggled in all aspects of life. It was through the grace of the Lord, and our wonderful parents, that we decided to come back to church. I still remember Mom Betty asking if we were going to Mass on Christmas morning 2023. We did go, and for some reason, only God can know, Danny was convicted in going every Sunday after that. I wasn't such a huge fan at the time, but I loved Danny and I knew it couldn't hurt. After months of going to mass, reading the Bible, diving further into our faith and into the Word of the Lord, our lives have changed. Surrendering our life to Christ didn't mean our life was perfect, but it did mean we were no longer walking alone. We now had a heavenly Father to rely on. Our life since has been filled with peace and love beyond our imagination. We are so excited to get married in the church that started it all for us, St. Peter the Apostle Catholic Church. We are so excited to share this sacrament of matrimony with all of you. For you all to walk into our most beloved place and witness how the Lord has transformed our lives. We are so excited to share this moment with you! A moment 10 years in the making.
