Maid of Honor
Hallie and I met in the 3rd grade on the sidelines of our older sisters' field hockey game. I showed off my extensive dress-up ring collection to Hallie and the rest is history. We've been each other's sisters-from-another-misters forever. We've been exact opposites our whole life and we wouldn’t have it any other way!
Groomsman
My Day 1. We met in pre-school and immediately became best friends. Our sisters and our parents are best friends too - isn't that neat? We lived together for 5 years after college, a true bachelor pad set in the suburbs of Burlington, VT and when I moved into an apartment with Alice, he moved in across the hall from us shortly after. Every day was like a Friends episode. Cy was there from the moment Alice and I met. He'll always feel like the brother I never had and Alice would likely say the same.
Maid of Honor
I met Mo my freshman year at UVM. After gaining the courage to talk to this very cool, tattooed, skull-kimono-wearing, blonde girl called Mo; we realized that we both were living in roommate nightmares. We quickly schemed to move out of our living situations to become roommates. We lived together all four years of college and spend about 16 hours on the phone with each other a day!
Groomsman
Sam and I became friends in middle school. He taught me how to fly fish, and also suggested I apply to the University of Montana, where we ended up going to college (but mostly to fish!). I'll never forget loading up his RAV4 and heading West together - such freedom. We had some incredible adventures in Montana, and he still lives there as a professional fly-fishing guide. He also happens to be the funniest person I know.
Bridesmaid
Eight years older than me is Farren: my oldest and bossiest sister. AND my most supportive and most loving oldest sister, too. I can remember tweenage Farren picking me up out of my bed, holding me in her arms and walking me around the dark room until I fell back asleep. She's always been my second mother and I love her for that.
Groomsman
Anders and I met in middle school. We played soccer together, and he was a crazy good hockey player as well (apparently he still skates 3 times a week!). I was coined the "Number 1 Fan" for the hockey team in high school - I was recognized on Senior Night and got to walk out on the ice (HA!). His house was closest to our high school and was where all our friends hung out, all the time, without permission. Bless John and Nancy (his parents). They were absolute saints, and raised a great pal of mine.
Bridesmaid
Mimi's the sister I smuggled too many bags to count of Lay's Salt and Vinegar Chips with out of the pantry closet at our Nonnie & Poppy's house on the Cape. She and I can laugh at each other/at ourselves/at nothing for hours together. She is a literal genius and I will never let her forget that she signed up for computer camp as a child.
Groomsman
Mattttttttty - We met later in life, after high school. Max roomed with Matty's high school friends in college which brought the U-32 / MMU clan together. You could never walk down Church Street in Burlington with Matt without getting stopped by people left and right. He's a true VT celeb from his basketball days at UVM (fun fact, he scored 26 points against UCONN in the NCAA tournament in 2014, the year they won it all). The fame eventually drove Matt to settle down in the woods where he's currently building up his homestead along side his beautiful family. Our annual, or biannual fishing trips to the Upper Connecticut River are some of our most cherished times.
Bridesmaid
Nicole is Danny's older sister and mother to our perfectly adorable flower girl, Marion. From the moment I met Nicole, she felt like my long lost third sister. We crack each other up and I'm so lucky to be gaining her as my true "third sister".
Groomsman
Max and I have been friends since middle school / early high school. I could always (and still can) count on Max to come up with some small, obscure game to cure our boredom for a few hours, like bouncing a tennis ball into a hanging fruit basket. He has always been the best person to talk to, about anything. Our most recent topic of conversation has been, "Max, how do we buy a house?"
Flower Girl
Our first and most adorable niece. She’s got some work to do on figuring out how to walk! But we can’t wait to have her smiley, bubbly little self be a part of our day. If you see her off duty, be sure to give her a wave! She's friendly.
Officiant
Bain is Alice's uncle and the mother-of-the-bride's younger brother. We spent our “best night of summer” with Bain last year, when he asked if we’d go out on his boat with him and to bring along our friends who were visiting. We shared a few tears when we asked him to officiate our wedding and then we shared a lot more laughs for the rest of night. A special day I don’t think any of us will ever forget. Bain is one of the kindest, most loving and most caring people. He exemplifies what it means to just be a “really good person”. We are beyond lucky that he will be marrying us. A little birdie told us he’s also got some serious dance moves…
