How can you tell people that you went to Vegas if you don't have a photo with the sign? The famous Las Vegas sign is exactly what it is - a sign located on the south side of the Strip. And, it's been renovated to have a parking lot right by the sign! It's free to take a photo, don't let anyone tell you otherwise. If you've taken a few minutes to get your photo and need something to do, then head just down the street to...
Take a little while to check out pinball machines from every decade! There's no entry fee, so walk in, grab a few coins from the change machines located inside and play some pinball. A unique detour on your Las Vegas adventure. JUST A WARNING! It seems like the owners prefer the place be viewed more as a museum rather than a proper arcade.. we've never had an issue there, but I've heard from other people that the owner can be a bit bristly.. to end on fun note, look for the stuffed cat on top of the sign! It's representative of the cat you might be able to meet inside :)
One of our favourite haunts in the city. Las Vegas' Chinatown boasts a wide variety of restaurants for any Asian cuisine you'd like. Whether that be ramen, Korean BBQ, or hot pot, Chinatown is a must to see the local side of the city. If you're in the mood for a fresh fruit boba smoothie, you gotta go to No.1 Boba inside the Chinatown mall! They cut the fruit fresh, daily.
Yes, there are flamingos inside the Flamingo Casino! Full disclosure, it may take a minute to navigate the casino floor to find them, but they're there, I promise you.
Open 24 hours, these gardens change according to the season; during December they usually have a nice Christmas theme. Fresh flowers under a huge green house, located inside the classy Bellagio, completely free*!! (*parking free to locals for 3hrs) The world's largest chocolate fountain is around the corner, in front of a pretty good bakery. While you're in the Bellagio, there are a couple of museums you can check out as well: a sculpture collection in front of the "O" showroom (free!), and then the Bellagio Fine Art Museum (not free, listed below!)
While you're checking out the free gardens, did you know Bellagio also has a museum? It's not a very large one, but very well curated! $20 a pop. The theme through Jan 4, 2026, is "American Duet: Jazz & Abstract Art". If you'd like something for free, there's a small sculpture gallery by the O showroom.
Rubber stamps and neon lights, this place is an absolute treasure to check out! It's in a kind of crappy part of town, and you just have to kind of hope the owner is actually there to buzz you in during their posted business hours, but it's legit, I swear!! A wide array of rubber stamp designs (a lot of Vegas specific ones too!) packed into a small space await you inside.
If you're feeling adventurous, head down to the Fremont Street Experience - a little slice of Vegas' unique flair. There's often live music, street performers, plenty of food options and a look at some of Las Vegas' oldest casinos. Even if you don't choose to stay for long, a quick walk down the street will give you plenty to talk about on the drive home. (We don't recommend this for families with youths due to some of the questionable sights there - please contact us to see if this experience is right for you)
Area 15 is an art hub building, with a small art garden out front, and tons to see inside. Some food, some shopping, a lot of LED lights. The area and building are free to roam, with some attractions requiring payment. Omega Mart is the most immersive of these paid options, and is very much what you make of it. There's an actual plot to the whole thing, with a mystery to uncover and clues to follow. However, it takes several hours to complete this story! That said, you can absolutely just walk around inside and take it all in like an art gallery and still have a great time. Photo ops abound, and some shopping available. Keep an eye out for the hardworking roombas with hard hats!
