Though we would absolutely love to have you there in person, we also get that these are unprecedented and unpredictable times and things come up. If you can't make it to Madrid, no worries. We are also planning to have the ceremony on Zoom for others who were invited virtually to see. For the Zoom invite please ask Davoé or Dannie :)
No. We're giving you the choice to chose where you want to stay! We love our venue location because it is centrally located in the heart of downtown Madrid and there are a plethora of accommodation options around the area. Also, the ceremony and reception will be held at the same place, so no need to worry about traveling from one venue to the other.
Cocktail, please. But we also want you to feel comfortable!
If your invitation says “and Guest,” then yes, if not, we would prefer if it was just you.
As of January 1st of 2022, Spain has a mask mandate for indoor and outdoor places. This means in the metro, when walking around downtown, and when you go to any museum or restaurant. When eating or drinking you can take your mask off. As regards to quarantining, as of January 1st, 2022, there is no law mandating that those traveling from other countries into Spain have to quarantine upon arrival. Madrid is downright bea-u-ti-ful this time of year! Early June is arguably the best time to visit Madrid because of the pleasant temperatures and sunny days. Also, you're coming before the typical tourist season starts so it will be a little less crowded than the summer months. As regards to what to pack, the sun can get intense here during the day, so make sure to bring typical summer attire -- shorts, t- shirts, summer dresses, sunglasses, sunscreen (!), etc. You might be able to get away with wearing jeans. When the sun goes down though, it can get chilly. So we suggest bringing a jacket. And if you plan on doing some city exploring, please(!) remember to bring comfy shoes for walking! Your feet will thank you later :)
Yes! One of the things that attracts visitors most to Madrid is that it is considered to be very safe for a large European city. Especially when it starts to get warmer out, it is not unusual for whole families to be out taking a paseo (a walk) at 11pm or 12 midnight. The metro too is always populated and is well- run by metro security. Though Madrid is very safe, please pretty please don't let your guard down when walking around in the center when you go to visit crowded or touristy spots. If you are not watchful of your belongings, you could get pickpocketed. When you go out to eat, never keep your cell phone chillen out in the open on the table- always put it back in your bag or pocket. Also, it's best to keep your phone or important valuables in your front pocket instead of the back pockets.
Yes! The Spanish government is making it a mandatory requirement for all travelers to fill out something called an FSC form before traveling to Spain. After filling out the form, it will generate a QR code for you, and you will need to either screenshot, print, or save the page with the QR code on your phone. From this website you can fill out the health control form: https://spth.gob.es/ Also, it isn't a bad idea to get a rapid test done before coming to prevent further spread. If your country requires you to have a negative COVID test when you return home, there are plenty of locations around Madrid where you can get same- day test results. Go to this link and on the right side of the page you'll find an updated PDF of locations around Madrid you can get the test done: https://es.usembassy.gov/covid-19-information/
