A Warm Welcome: Pre-Wedding Feast
Maftuna and her family will host Kuyov Nakar (“the groom’s friends”) a traditional pre-wedding celebration for the groom and friends at her childhood home. There will be a hoopla, dancing and a traditional feast. On the day, the guys will essentially gather at the end of Maftuna's street and walk in formation to her house, accompanied by a local band and cars. The point is to create a ruckus!

Feeling a little dusty? Rest, recover and re-watch that highlight reel of yesterday's dance moves or, if you like, join us on a local tour of the city of Tashkent. This tour will start with a masterclass on making local Uzbek food, followed by a tour of Chorsu Bazaar with a local guide.
7:15 am
Set off with us on an oriental express to the city of Samarkand, the city where merchants, scholars (and now you!) from the East and West have converged for over 2,000 years. We will organize the logistics for a guided tour, transportation, accommodation and restaurants. As we are able to secure a local rate, total cost of the tour (including hotels, train and accommodation) over the next two days will be about $400 USD (excluding restaurants). Restaurant meals will be probably around $10 - $15 USD per person. 🚄 High-speed rail: Tashkent - Samarkand Departure: 07:21 AM Arrival: 09:51 AM Stay overnight in Samarkand
