How We Met

Her version:

We met at an engagement party in Redondo Beach. We were introduced to each other and got to talking about the University of Arizona because Dan mentioned he was from Tucson. Obviously a cute guy talking about the Wildcats sparked my interest. I must admit, I was slightly confused though because Dan seemed to have a Canadian accent. I soon discovered Dan had been living in Canada for quite a few years, and had picked up somewhat of a little accent (even though he doesn't think he has one!). We continued to chat on & off throughout the night and you could say a little crush was beginning to form. When Dan left that night, I figured that would be the last that I would see or hear from "Dan the Fireman" (a separate story, feel free to ask). Apparently Dan had felt butterflies too because he messaged me on Facebook the following day. For those of you who know Dan, he is NOT a social media guy. The fact that he figured out my last name and then messaged me on Facebook is a really big deal. I didn't know that at the time, but I do now and it makes his pursuit of me even that much more chivalrous. We chatted back and forth for awhile and I immediately had feelings. A couple of months later, I was reunited with Dan while he was back in California for a work meeting! We went on the most incredible 1st date, but Dan left the next morning to head back to Canada. I knew that I would need to see him again! He invited me to his Christmas party in Montreal, so naturally I flew to Canada for our 2nd date. We knew this would either be really good or really bad. Obviously we had an amazing time together and I knew that he was someone worth having in my life, no matter the distance. The events that led us to each other are quite serendipitous, & I know we were meant to find each other one way or another! I can't wait to marry him and spend the rest of our lives together!

The greatest love story there ever was

His version:

It was the summer of 2016 and Dan was invited to be the guest of honor at a beach party in Redondo Beach. With his remarkably accurate intuition he sensed that a unique opportunity awaited him, so he politely declined all of the other appearances that cluttered his schedule. The party commenced on the beach, where Dan proceeded to showcase his stunning athleticism and swiftly dismantled all takers that dared challenge him at volleyball, spike ball, and Polish horseshoes. Danielle was witness to these incredible feats and was overcome with desire. Even though she was wracked with nervousness, this was a man she simply had to meet. She approached him with hesitation. His tan, chiseled muscles heaved slowly as he quickly recovered from his latest victory. She noticed the natural sparkle in his eyes that put the Pacific Ocean to shame. "He, he, hello" she stammered, overcome with shyness. "Hello" he responded with a smooth, unwavering baritone voice. "My name is, um, uh...Danielle." "Danielle, I can't help but notice that the freckles in our eyes are mirror images and when we kiss they will be perfectly aligned." A nervous rush of blood rocketed to her head and Danielle swooned like the fair maiden she was. With his quick skills, Dan caught her before she landed in the soft California sand. Caught by his loving embrace, she was instantly revived with a feeling of life she had never experienced in her 21 years. "It's ok, he reassured her. You're safe now." Burning embers of passion swept over her and they kissed with a love never before seen in all the land. "I have traveled this world near and far and have never seen a sight as beautiful as you", he told her. From the peaks of the Himalayas to the depths of the Grand Canyon, she had a beauty that was unmatched in all the world. He knew then that she would bear him children...but he also knew those children would not be named Dan, Danielle, Dana, Dante, Dane, or anything remotely close to the name Dan :)
