Dan and I met swing dancing at The Flying Monkey Theatre in 2015. Dan graduated from the University of Illinois in the Fall of 2014 when he then accepted a job in Huntsville, AL as an electrical engineer for Dynetics. In the Spring he was invited by an acquaintance to try east coast swing dancing at Lowe Mill ARTS & Entertainment. After accepting the invitation, he dove headlong into lessons and the fun of social dancing. I graduated from the University of North Alabama in the Spring of 2015 with a degree in math and secondary education. I moved to Huntsville after accepting a job teaching at Chapman Middle School. A few months into my first semester, I was invited by friends to attend a swing dance lesson at Lowe Mill and was immediately hooked! During lessons, leads and follows switch partners constantly so everyone gets a chance to dance with each other. As time went on we each continued to catch the other's eye. In April, 2016 we were invited by a mutual friend to attend the Fleur de Lindy Swing Dance Exchange during New Orlean's French Quarter Festival! It was there that hands were held, glances were caught, and romantic blues dancing on the balcony of Bamboula's on Frenchman Street were had. Dan and I talked the day we returned home and we agreed, our feelings for each other had not stayed in New Orleans. We had our first date on April 15th and we have been together ever since :)
Dan and I found out I was pregnant in January 2019. I was admitted into Crestwood Hospital on Wednesday, September 11th around 7 AM and Nathan was born at 11:36 the same morning! Nathan continues to grow healthy and strong everyday. He loves to smile and laugh and make everyone else do the same. He is the joy of our lives, we can't get enough of him!
