On January 17, 2020, in the heart of Rome at Campo de’ Fiori, fate quietly stepped in. Jaelin had just arrived back in Italy for the final semester of her senior year. Though tired from travel, a close friend convinced her to go out that evening. What seemed like an ordinary night would soon become the most unforgettable one of her life. Across the square, Danilo noticed Jaelin and felt drawn to her instantly. When he came over to introduce himself, the connection was effortless, natural, warm, and full of spark. By the end of the night, he asked for her number, and the very next day they shared their first date at a cozy wine restaurant in Trastevere. From that moment on, they were inseparable. Their days were filled with long walks, laughter, late-night conversations, and endless adventures throughout Rome. Just three months later, the world changed. Italy became one of the first countries impacted by COVID-19, and the two suddenly found themselves in lockdown, together, 24 hours a day, seven days a week, for six months. What could have been overwhelming became the greatest blessing. Through that life-changing season, they grew a strong and unbreakable love. They realized this was no longer just dating, this was forever. Since then, their journey has taken them across continents and cities. They’ve called Rome home, lived in Florence, and now share their first home together in Washington, D.C., which they proudly purchased in April 2025. In June 2024, Danilo proposed to Jaelin in San Diego, California at Sunset Cliffs , as the sun dipped into the ocean, surrounded by friends and pure joy. Standing on the edge of the world, overlooking the sea, Jaelin said yes to the love of her life. Danilo and Jaelin are a vivacious couple who love to travel, explore, laugh, and experience life side by side. Attraverso quell’esperienza che ha cambiato la vita, hanno costruito un amore forte e indissolubile. Hanno capito che non si trattava più solo di frequentarsi, ma di per sempre. Da allora, il loro viaggio li ha portati attraverso continenti e città. Hanno chiamato Roma casa, vissuto a Firenze e oggi condividono la loro prima casa a Washington, D.C., acquistata con orgoglio nell’aprile 2025. Nel giugno 2024, Danilo ha chiesto a Jaelin di sposarlo a San Diego, in California, alle Sunset Cliffs. Mentre il sole tramontava nell’oceano, circondati da amici e da una gioia pura, sembrava di trovarsi ai confini del mondo. Affacciata sul mare, Jaelin ha detto sì all’amore della sua vita.
