Visit the beautiful, iconic Salt Lake Temple of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints (aka "The Mormon Church"). NOTE: The temple and surrounding gardens are currently under renovations until 2024 and closed to the public, however there are still many other buildings and restaurants open for tour. The Beehive House where Brigham Young lived with his (many) wives is a fun peek into history.
Admission to Oktoberfest is free. Hours are noon to 6 p.m. The entire festival will include a variety of summer activities for all ages. The Aerial Tram will be open for scenic rides throughout and alphorns play daily on weekends atop Hidden Peak at 3 p.m. The Summit, located at 11,000 feet atop Hidden Peak, will be serving authentic Bavarian food and drink alongside the beautiful scenery of the Wasatch Mountains. Other activities include the Woodward WreckTangle, Vertical Drop, Alpine Slide, Mountain Coaster, Summer Tubing, Climbing Wall, Bungee Trampolines, Ropes Course, and Kids’ Inflatables. Mountain biking and hiking options are also available.
Feeling adventurous? Have a need for speed? Experience extreme tubing by going down the Nordic Ski Jump (the ones Olympic athletes train and ski jump off!) and get up to speeds of 50 MPH. Strap yourself into a Summer Bobsled to go down the 2002 Olympic Sliding Track and go from 0 to 60, all in less than a minute. You can also take it (slightly) slower on the Alpine Slide, Extreme Zipline, or navigate rope courses.
One of the best place to see the Great Salt Lake up close and personal. You can even take a dip in the lake and see how you naturally float due to the high salinity of the water. Antelope Island is also great place to see a herd of bison. It is a state park, so you'll have to pay $15 to enter. 1 hour away from Salt Lake City.
