FAQs

Question

What time should I arrive?

Answer

Our wedding ceremony will start promptly at 6:30pm. Please plan to arrive at least fifteen minutes early to find a seat.

Question

Will the wedding be inside or outside?

Answer

While Chicago weather is notoriously unpredictable, we hope to host our wedding ceremony and cocktail hour outside on the Adler Planetarium's paved terrace overlooking Lake Michigan and Chicago's skyline. Dinner and dancing will take place indoors.

Question

What is Chicago weather like in early May?

Answer

Please be prepared for a breeze and remember it's always a bit cooler near the lake (where our wedding will take place). We plan to keep our ceremony short, and in the event of rain or unreasonably cold weather the entire event will take place indoors to keep everyone comfortable.

Question

Is there parking available for the ceremony and reception at the Adler Planetarium?

Answer

We will have limited parking available for our wedding guests at the Adler. We also encourage guests staying at our hotel blocks to use the provided shuttle, and local guests to use rideshare or taxi services.

Question

Are kids invited to the wedding?

Answer

We love your kids, but we want to celebrate with you! Our wedding will be adults-only so that everyone can relax and enjoy without worrying about bedtime. If childcare is a concern, please let us know, we are happy to help coordinate a local babysitter or nanny.

Question

What's the best way to get around Chicago?

Answer

We recommend taking the CTA trains or busses when you can! Google maps provides simple directions and you can tap a credit card to pay without buying a pass. Lyft and Uber are also good options.

Question

What is the dress code for the Ceremony and Reception?

Answer

The dress code is Black Tie Optional. This means tuxes or dark colored suits and long formal dresses, jumpsuits, or pantsuits.
