Not your typical high school sweetheart story but close... We both grew up in Nevada County, California, and went to the same high school. Being only two grades apart, we ran in similar circles as he was a football player and I was a cheerleader. Little did we know, we were both in the same place under those Friday night lights each week as he played on Varsity as a sophomore during my senior year (I secretly always had a crush!) Over the years following graduation, Gab always received birthday, new year's, and congratulatory messages. Drew never missed an opportunity to say hello! Fast forward to quarantine 2020 - It actually all started with an Instagram story featuring Camellia! Gab asked to facetime so she could meet Cam and the rest was history. We spent upwards of eight hours a night talking on the phone, telling stories, listening to music, cooking, and learning everything about each other. Drew explained that he is a "relationship guy", and promised no games and pure honesty. That's when the stars aligned and we had never been so sure of a bond this powerful in our entire life that we decided we never wanted to be without it. Meanwhile, we couldn't wait to finally meet in person, so Drew drove a brutal 38 hours straight through from Cincinnati to Reno with Cam and decided to finish college classes online since Covid shut down in-person practices. Our first official date was hiking 6 miles up a mountain in Reno to a beautiful waterfall where we rewarded ourselves with a couple of IPAs and salty snacks. Shortly after, we made it official to friends & family and made our public debut on social media! Our first vacation that we took together was a roadtrip to Monterey, CA, where we explored the quaint little beach town and shared Drew's favorite place in the world - the Pacific Ocean - marking Monterey as one of our special spots. While living in Reno, we visited our old high school on many occasions and realized that at one point, our lockers were nearly next to each other for an entire year. The universe sure had a plan for us! Although we loved living in Reno and being close to family, we knew there were more career opportunities elsewhere. So we packed up the apartment and moved to Austin, Texas! We've been here for almost three years and love this city, but Northern California will always be home to both of us. xxx
