Samantha's dad, Michael Kondo, was head master gardener at the Portland Japanese Garden for 40 years before he retired! Go check out his work and spend some time admiring the most authentic Japanese garden outside of Japan!
Nice outdoor mall directly next to The Grand Hotel at Bridgeport and 15 minutes from the venue. Includes stores like Apple, Anthropologie, Urban Outfitters, LuluLemon, Nike and more! Many food and restaurant options as well. Check out our favorite boba shop Happy Lemon! Samantha could drink the "Mango Matcha Smoothie with boba, 30% sweet" everyday of her life. Daniel also likes the "Milk Tea w/ Salted Cheese (essentially a sweet whipped cream cheese creamer with hint of salt)" Get our signature drinks in our honor :)
The indoor mall we grew up on! Also 15 minutes from the venue. Classic stores like Nordstrom, H&M, Aritzia, Abercrombie and more! Portland Gear just opened a storefront as well if you need a local souvenir or gift. Also a Din Tai Fung, although not as good as ours in Seattle in our opinion. New Happy Lemon Boba stand here too :) Check out our favorite eye doctors, Dr. Dale and Daniel Ogata, located inside the Lens Crafters to get your eyes checked! Mention our names for a high five!
We haven't been yet, but have heard great things! If with a group and looking for a way to kill time, check out this place! A multi-court recreational and social space. Pickleball, ping pong, cornhole, & bocce. Good food, beer, soft serve and entertainment. Check out the website and make sure to reserve a pickle ball court if that's what you want to do! No entry fee for eating/drinking/hanging out, but the activities are paid for at an hourly rate.
We don't like to golf, but Top Golf we can manage. Climate controlled hitting bays that provide food and drink options while you hangout on the couch. Allows you to practice your swing and compete with your friends for points! They provide clubs and balls. It's like elevated bowling.
Both touristy options, but best options less than an hour outside of Portland/Lake Oswego. Grew up doing Angel's Rest with friends! 4.8 miles round trip with a beautiful view of the Columbia River Gorge! Not too difficult. Multnomah Falls is the classic waterfall with paved path. Only 5 minutes apart from each other if you want a good bang for your buck.
