Our wedding is a two-day event! The wedding ceremony will occur on Thursday, August 21st, at the historic 16th-century Archangelou Michael Church in Nicosia. A cocktail reception on the church's grounds will follow the ceremony. An aperitif, a formal dinner, and an after-party will be held at the luxurious Anassa Hotel in the Paphos region of Cyprus on Saturday, August 23rd.
The ceremony will be indoors, while the cocktail reception, aperitif, and formal dinner will be outdoors.
The dress code is formal.
We recommend arriving at least 30 minutes before the ceremony, which begins at 5:30 pm. This will give you enough time to find your seat and enjoy the surroundings.
After the wedding ceremony, the couple will take photos with their immediate family on the church grounds. Guests will be directed to the cocktail reception area, where finger food and light beverages (including beer, soda, and wine) will be served. Once the newlyweds arrive, they will participate in a traditional “receiving line.” In this setup, the couple, along with their parents, will greet each guest personally, thank them for attending, and receive any wedding gifts as guests pass through the line.
Larnaca International Airport (LCA) is the primary airport in Cyprus. It is approximately a 45-minute drive from Archaggelou Michael Church which is located in Nicosia and a two and a half hour drive to Anassa Hotel located in Paphos. Paphos International Airport (PFO) is approximately one hour from Anassa Hotel located in Paphos and two hours from Archaggelou Michael Church located in Nicosia.
Car rentals, taxis, and ride-sharing companies are available from Larnaca International and Paphos International Airports. (A recommendation: VIP Transfer Cyprus. They can be found at their Instagram handle @viptransferscyprus)

Renting a car is a great option if you plan on exploring more of Cyprus during your stay. Major car rental companies, including Hertz, Enterprise, and Avis/Budget, have offices in Cyprus and offer airport pick-up/drop-off. Remember that driving is on the left-hand side of the road, and the steering wheel is on the right side of the vehicle!

A friendly reminder: our wedding will be a two-day celebration taking place in two different regions of Cyprus—Nicosia and Paphos. Cyprus is a member of the European Union, so EU citizens do not need a visa. If you’re coming from a non-EU country, please check with your local embassy or consulate. If you're a US passport holder, a visa is not needed to enter Cyprus.
The Euro (€) is Cyprus' official currency. We recommend exchanging your currency before traveling. (Banks generally yield the best exchange rate). Most major international credit cards are accepted in Cyprus. However, some establishments will not accept American Express. Cash may be required in smaller independent shops, restaurants, and taxis. Tipping is optional and not required. Therefore, when you hand over your credit card to pay for the meal, you will need to tell the server how much tip you want to add before they swipe the card (unless you plan to leave cash, in which case a tip cannot be added to the receipt afterward). Value-added tax, or VAT, on purchases over EUR 400 (€) may be eligible for reimbursement. You will need a tax exemption form and the original receipt provided by the store. The VAT can then be refunded at the airport. Please give yourself at least an extra half hour for this step. For additional information, go to the Ministry of Tourism under “money & currency.” See the site below for further details. https://www.visitcyprus.com/useful-info/money-currency/
In 1974, Turkey invaded the northern part of Cyprus. Since then the island of Cyprus has been split into two parts. The occupied northern illegal side is separated from the southern side by a U.N. border that can be crossed at specific locations. Traveller Advice Regarding the Turkish Occupied Areas of the Republic of Cyprus: The Government of the Republic of Cyprus is the only recognised Government on the island; a member of the EU since May 01, 2004, as well as a member of the UN and other International Organisations. As a result of the Turkish military presence and occupation, the Government of the Republic of Cyprus is not in a position to exercise control over the occupied areas of the Republic. The so-called ‘TRNC’ has been condemned and declared as both illegal and invalid by the whole of the International Community through Security Council Resolutions 541/83 and 550/84. With the sole exception of Turkey, no state in the world or International Organisation recognises the secessionist entity. **All our activities will occur on the southern side.

For those looking to explore the local area without renting a car, there are many private tour companies offering excursions. Many hotels, including Anassa, offer guided tours.

With limited space in their apartment and a shared love for simplicity, Daniel and Melanie have chosen not to create a traditional wedding registry. Your presence at their celebration means the world to them, but if you feel moved to give, they would be deeply grateful for a monetary contribution to help them build their future together.
