Daniel and Hayley met at the Oregon State Fair back in 2019 when they were 14 years old. They were both showing livestock for 4-H that year. Hayley showing her sheep, and Daniel showing goats, sheep, and his rabbits. One day at fair Daniel and his friends Jake and Grady were playing a game of "who can get the most numbers" and the only girl Daniel asked a number from was Hayley. From then on Hayley and Daniel began their start of a friendship and saw each other at 4-H events and county ambassador meetings. After a couple years of getting to know each other, at 16, Daniel asked Hayley to be his girlfriend right outside of the now closed cracker-barrel in Tualatin. Hayley said yes and they continued their way walking into the Cabela's. From that time forward things were going well until January 24th of 2021 when Hayley broke up with Daniel. It was two days before Daniel's 17th birthday which was not very cool, but a lot in their lives was changing and living an hour apart without drivers' licenses, did not help their case. They decided it would be best not to talk to each other for a while until they had to see each other at 4-H meetings and events. Hayley eventually grew to think Daniel hated her and vise versa. Some years passed and they had become used to seeing each other around and engaging in small talk but nothing much deeper than that. More years pass until the late fall of 2024. There had been enough time that the two began to talk and catch up like they used to. Hayley knew she still liked Daniel, and Daniel knew he still liked Hayley. It just took a while for them to get to the point of communicating that. Eventually Hayley found out that her friend Heber was playing Minecraft with Daniel, so she begged Heber to let her and her brother, Derek, to be able to play with them. This was the start of new beginnings for Daniel and Hayley. Over time they were able to talk like they used to an even told each other how they really felt during their time apart, and how they never hated one another. One day after a skeet shoot in Verboort, Daniel decided to stop by Hayleys house. From then on, they began hanging out just like they used to. Then on March 2nd, 2025, Daniel asked Hayley to be his girlfriend for the second time around, and it was the easiest yes for Hayley.
