Visit and take a tour of the Hildene House, the former summer home of Robert Todd Lincoln, the son of President Abraham Lincoln.
Explore the Equinox Preserve! The Equinox Preserve consists of over 914 acres on the slopes of Mount Equinox in Manchester. In 1996, owners of the Equinox Resort donated conservation easements to the Vermont Land Trust to permanently protect this land. Great spot for a quick walk around the pond, or if you are feeling ambitious, you can climb Equinox Mountain or choose from dozens of other trails. Check out their website for maps and trail guides.
Once a commercial marble quarry (fun fact, marble from the quarry was used to build the steps of the New York Library) the Dorset Quarry is now filled with water, making it a great spot for a mid-summer swim. Thanks to an article in USA Today, the quarry does get overly crowded, so we recommend going in the morning. 7-12 minute drive from most hotels and venues.
The Southern Vermont Arts Center is a multi-disciplinary arts organization in Manchester, Vermont. The center includes art galleries with permanent and rotating exhibits, the area's largest sculpture park, a performance space, and educational facilities. Its grounds are open to the public for recreational visits, with trails for hiking. It's a 3-minute drive or 25-minute walk from most hotels and venues.
Biking is a great way to explore the Manchester area! You can rent bikes through Battenkill Bicycle's website.
This scenic 1927 Walter Travis-designed golf course with spectacular views of the surrounding mountains is open to both Equinox Resort guests and the general public. We recommend calling ahead to schedule a tee time.
Take a hike or drive to Mt Equinox!
In a few short years, The Crooked Ram has grown into a full restaurant with three distinct experiences: The Cafe, The Dining Room, and, our personal favorite, The Yard - an open-air kitchen and bar with a delicious menu of wood-fired oven pizzas, vegetable dishes, draft beer, and natural wine.
Delicious salads and sandwiches. Walkable distance from Downtown Manchester.
