I always knew who Billy was because my cousin grew up a few houses down from the Sheridan’s on Rosewood Street. Gabrielle is good friends with Billy’s little sister Cyndi who I would also hang out with from time to time. One day, I was working at my grandfather’s bakery shop and in walked this devestatingly handsom guy, with a god awful lumber jack hat on, but I was instantly drawn to his ice blue eyes. We exchanged a few flirtatious smiles while I packed up his cheese steak stromboli, and off he went. I couldn’t wait until the store cleared out to ask my cousin Gabrielle who that cute guy with Patty Sheridan was. I insisted she call Cyndi right away to give her brother my phone number. Well, being a working mom and all Gabrielle didn’t do it as fast as I wanted to I reached out to Cyndi myself and asked if she woukd pass my phone number along to her brother. Boy, what a mistake that was! He called me two days later, and we made arrangements to hang out. Billy came over my apartment that night and we stayed awake until 6 in the morning just talking to each other. After that night he never actually left! We got enaged after only 4 months of dating, because we just knew we wanted to do this forever. Five years later we have our beautiful son Finnegan and we are finally saying “I do!”
Billy knew that it was always my dream to get engaged at my favorite place on earth, Disney World! We booked our trip for June of 2015. On our very first night there Billy took me to dinner at the Grand Floridan. The restaurant was called Narccoose’s. We had a table by the window with gorgeous views of the Seven Seas Lagoon and Cinderella’s Castle. It was perfect. After we finished our dinner, I got up to use the restroom and when I came back Billy quickly told me not to sit, and got down on his knee. The restaurant instantly became silent, and people were pulling out their phones and video cameras to capture our special moment. Once I said yes, Billy pulled the most beautiful ring I had ever seen from his pocket, and the on lookers began to clap and cheer. I would later find out that my father had given Billy the diamond solitare from my late mother’s engagement ring, which Billy put in a brand new setting to propose to me. The wait staff brought out two glasses of complimentary champagne just in time for us to go out on the deck to watch Wishes Fireworks Spectacular! It was truly a magical night.
