We originally planned our wedding for 6/20/2020, except we then unwillingly became a Covid-Bride/Groom. We postponed our original wedding date for October 2020, which we realized was the day of a major marathon in DC. We then moved it to 12/6/2020, but were notified that we would be forced to postpone unless we were willing to have under 50 guests, no music, no dancing and no alcohol. We would NEVER do that to our friends and family, so we have now rescheduled AGAIN! We got married on 11/21/2020 with just our immediate family in what has now been called a microwedding. We continued to plan for our original party in DC, until our venue suddenly became the Embassy of Qatar. We changed our plans AGAIN and now can't wait to celebrate with ALL of our friends and family on our 1-year anniversary on 11/21/2021 in a reception in Fredericksburg, VA, where we met!
Danielle and Will met on Tinder- Will's first message was, "As a teacher, do you find yourself using the (pencil emoji) often?" They texted for a few weeks while Will was away for work and finally met for dinner when he came back. Even though the first restaurant they went to was closed because of a roof collapsing, and the second had a two hour wait, they had a great first date at Kybecca in Fredericksburg!
Will planned a hike in Shenandoah National Park and dragged (almost literally) Danielle out for the day. It was the first *really* hot weekend of the season so it felt unbearable, and the hike to the top of Mary's Rock was harder than Will remembered. Danielle tried to convince Will to turn around several times on the way up but he refused to turn around. At the top, Will convinced Danielle to crawl between rocks to get to a spot away from all of the people crowding the summit and forced Danielle to eat a snack. After watching very careless climbers bouldering near the ledge, Will pulled out the ring box and proposed! After saying "OMG, seriously after that!?" several times, Danielle said YES! (Danielle was MUCH happier on the way down the mountain!)
